sobe Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I just got notice that my mod has shipped so I started to review the PDF instructions. I only fly DCS and noticed the mod comes with two front plates. I assume that for DCS I should use the circular plate. Correct? pocketedition Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 sobe Doesn't matter. If you like circles, use that. If you like squares, use that one. Use the round one, and if you don't like it swap it for the rectangle.

bigalsunit Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 #2243 arrived today, took me less than ten minutes to install and calibrate. Works like a charm! No one dare to talk to me the rest of the week... Just out of curiosity where are you located? I’m in Phoenix and my order #2231 has been stuck in Los Angeles for quite a few days now with no updates to the tracking. Normally I’m fairly patient with packages but I am getting a little concerned with this one.
crash test pilot Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Very much more near to Deltaalphalima then to you...(Germany;))

I’m in Phoenix and my order #2231 has been stuck in Los Angeles for quite a few days now with no updates to the tracking. Normally I’m fairly patient with packages but I am getting a little concerned with this one. Sounds like it’s probably got held up in LA customs. Occasionally if you get unlucky they will sit there for a week or so, but from the tracking it looks like it should get to you soon :). Occasionally if you get unlucky they will sit there for a week or so, but from the tracking it looks like it should get to you soon :). Looks like that is exactly what happened. Sometimes USPS tracking doesn't update after it leaves customs, but it should arrive tomorrow. Thanks for checking on it for me though and for all of the work you've done putting this together. I am really looking forward to getting it installed!
Beltza Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Here, 2185 received and installed. And working perfectly. Thanks Damien. [sIGPIC]https://imgur.com/pdHN44Y.jpg[/sIGPIC] 24 Flotilla Geweih
The Burrito Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 (edited) Is it just me or is there a significant dead zone when using this for the F-15 radar? Default settings require a pretty noticeable amount of movement before the cursor moves. I've also noticed that reversing direction while slewing the A-10C TGP sometimes causes the input to stop registering and the slew motion just stops, though I don't know if that particular one is a bug with DCS. I've also noticed that reversing direction while slewing the A-10C TGP sometimes causes the input to stop registering and the slew motion just stops, though I don't know if that particular one is a bug with DCS. I know there is an issue in the A-10C TGP sometimes where it will briefly stop moving. There was a discussion about it a few pages back. Someone suggested it was modelling the stabilisation of the camera moving to catch up with frame - which sounds plausible. I'm not sure about the F-15, have you checked if everything is working properly in a different program (game controller menu or different testing software). If it does then it will just be a feature of the F-15. Arctic Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) Received #2269 today and just installed it. Works like a charme! Way better than the old slew Sensor, that was horrible! Buttons instead of axes would have been better before... My Warthog was bought in 2012 and the Throttle had Fw20, so i updated to 23. Great upgrade for the Warthog!:pilotfly: Edited September 10, 2019 by Arctic
Drahkken Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Order #2256 received and installed in 10 minutes. This is a OMG, Holy-Shit, Why-didnn't-Thrustmaster-Do-This-In-The-First-Place mods. If you have a Thrustmaster Warthog, just do it... You'll kick yourself it took so long to decide... The quality is excellent, the installation is easy, the price is reasonable, and the controls are significantly improved. Thanks for the mod. It's close enough to perfection to just not matter...
sobe Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Either this mod is more difficult than I thought or I am less capable than I thought. It appears the latter may be correct. I cannot seem to get the old sensor out of the throttle. I cannot seem to feel the plastic clips to get the old sensor out. I may try again Sunday. Trackir4 using the latest Trackir 5 software, Win10 Pro [Creator Update] updated from Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel® Core™ i5-2500 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA115 , GigaByte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 16GB Ram, GTX MSI Gaming 1060 [6 GB] Video Card, Main Monitor 1 on left 1920x1080 Touchscreen Monitor 2 on right 1920x1080 .
Yurgon Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I cannot seem to get the old sensor out of the throttle. I cannot seem to feel the plastic clips to get the old sensor out. I may try again Sunday. I had that same problem. Most guys talk about 10 minutes of work total. I tried to get the old sensor out for 30 or more minutes, trying with fingertips and screwdriver heads. Eventually, I managed to get it done, but I had to apply so much force I thought the slightest slip might get me to ruin the entire throttle assembly. Plus, at least one of my fingertips was numb for half a day. Sounds like your throttle is as unusual as mine, or we're both less capable than we thought we were. ;) If your throttle is like mine, just keep at it and eventually, with a lot of carefully applied force, the old sensor assembly will come loose. The good news is that installing the new sensor went totally smooth for me. The hard part really was to get the old one out.
sobe Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Yurgon I had to laugh about your finger going numb. I too had my index finger go numb so I had to stop as I could no longer feel the where to press. I thought about going thru the other side of the throttle handle, but was told that the entire throttle would have to be taken apart. Oh well, one more equipment mod that may end up on the shelf of no return. Greyman Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 With my 56-year-old eyesight and clunking great fingers, I struggled with the same issue, but was lucky enough to have a rather adept son, importantly with far less chubby fingers and better eyesight, to do the deed. The upgrade works wonderfully well and I'd recommend that you try to find someone with the necessary physical attributes to get the old sensor out and the new one in, before giving up.

I'm 55 with the same sausage sized fingers, poor dexterity & eyesight. I've just ordered my mod kit but will have to wait to November for delivery. I'll then kidnap my nephew and not feed him until he's completed the mod for me. Thanks for the heads up.
sobe Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Today was a fantastic day. I once again tried to install the mod, but this time with the help of a fantastic video by the author/maker of The Warthog Project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx29Fbb2Rqc. His video gave me the confidence to try again to install the mod and this time it was a success. His video should be linked in the PDF instructions for us dummies. So far everything seems to work. Oceandar Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 (edited) Looking at the above video I can see jittering while he's slewing the cursor something that I don't see with the old one. Is that normal or he just needs to adjust it in DCS setting ? Edited September 18, 2019 by Oceandar Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze

Is that normal or he just needs to adjust it in DCS setting ? I think that he explains in his commentary, that it is the aircraft software locking on to bits of the ground and with the display being zoomed right in, any such system generated movements will be exaggerated. The slew works just fine.
