Hornet update?

It's only been a week since release and we've already released two updates and a planned hot fix for Friday. Please be patient.

I was simply poking a friendly jab at the guy stating that IFF was "objectively" more important. Nothing else.

Unfortunately nothing about the Flaps, FCS, or FM...

(all which are more objectively more important than IFF ;] )

Like Wags said, it's out for one week. Give them time, Rome wasn't built in one week either.

Those things take time and ED is working their b*** off to get the fixes to us ASAP.

Modules: Well... all of 'em

Thanks for the TDC axis! Will feel more comfortable now using that to scroll on radar and I get my hat switch back on the warthog.

Plus there's another update Friday?

About the flaps thing, give them time. I've learned to anticipate and add power. If they said they are looking at it, it's better than having said nothing and it swept under the rug.

That got me wondering if it's possible to increase/decrease the range on the radar by pushing the TDC to the upper/lower border of the Radar Display, like the F-15 & F-16?

Right now I have it mapped to the warthog 4 way hat on throttle that's next to the mic switch. When ever I would push and scroll it all the way to the side it would go off the radar screen. Don't think the elevation changed. I have that mapped to the DMS up and down on the warthog stick.

Not sure how this happened to you, but you seem to be running the old updater, without support for delta patches. The new updater is version 2.8.1.58.

Neither I - the updater updated itself earlier this morning then I saw that the update 3 came out and it detected it and is now downloading ... hmmm strange.

Just cancelled the 13GB "update" and opened DCS Updater again, successfully updated to 2.8.1.58 and now downloading only 791MB. What is happening.. Why did it not update to .58 the first time?!

Yo, with these gigantic updates, first a 9GB one then a 15GB one (one after the other).... we really need an option to download the updates to a separate drive...

the whole hornet was a smaller size update....

It's called early access for a reason.

:megalol:

Hahaha...I was thinking the same thing.

I am please that DCS rolled the bug out now. It is functional enough to get familiar with it, so as more functionality is added the learning curve will be less steep.

It was a smart move for DCS.

Mine just finished using the .57 update and I then had it update to the .58 release and everything was downloaded/updated to the .391 update - so no wasted time there for me.

Try running DCS_updater.exe from your sim root folder.

You can force the update. Go to the bin folder of your dcs install directory and shift + right click open command window here.

Type dcs_updater.exe update

Press enter.

Yes - it came out a few hours ago. Make sure you’re in the OpenBeta folder.

Had the older version of this but never used it. I prefer doing things manually but then again I'm a developer by trade so anyway this tool is probably best from a usability standpoint.

Very correct. When ED stated in their FAQ section that adding sensors and system gradually would help smoothen the learning curve, I was sadden that the Hornet is coming out not fully functional. Now I have only been preoccupied with carrier/airfield landing and navigation.

Seems I am going to have a lot in my hands taking all this in.

So yeah smart move by ED to go this road.

2 updates already and another coming on Friday? This is impressive from ED.
