SkateZilla
Thanks! Where would I find the default LUA for this template? The template I got from EA has only 3 PSD files which translate to 3 eventual DDS files. My end skin is messed up so I am missing something. I can make F-15C skins without issue so my process seems to be sound. Thanks again Check 1st Post of the Thread. David A Sell
Tail hook I believe is on Map 1, Directly to the Right of the LERX Maps in the Upper Left Quadrant. Yessir it is. I made myself a Skin ID overlay to find all the bits. Thanks! Tailhook and Launch-bar circled in red, just in case anyone is ever looking down the line. Texac
Does anyone know where i can find this texture in the template? I'd love to be able to take it down. F18C_2_DIF_RoughMet Also take a look at the AO layer for the center pylon on F18C_1_DIFF. But I will guess with the ability to remove pylons ED will take a look at that themselves and change it. silverdevil
Check 1st Post of the Thread. Yes I saw that and I am probably just a simpleton. I used that LUA and all I get is the default skin. My mods are not in place. Which means I am a little closer to my goal. I guess I still need some education. Texac
i find the F18C_2_DIF_RoughMet file but its a .dds i cant edit... only one layer u know... You can make a separate background layer and fill it with the color you need, get back to the original RoughMet layer and use the color erase tool, take a color sample from the RoughMet and basically remove it's original paint. - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •
Ala13_ManOWar
i find the F18C_2_DIF_RoughMet file but its a .dds i cant edit... only one layer u know... DDS files requires a Photoshop plugin or a dedicated program like DXTBMP. Anyway, if you manage to edit what you're gonna find is this, so you won't be able to erase anything. That texture is probably a leftover from pylon. S! "I went into the British Army believing that if you want peace you must prepare for war. S! yeah i know that, im advanced user of photoshop, and yes obviusly i have a dds plugin from nvidia, What I meant was that you can't delete that mark because it's a non-editable dds layer so far, we'll see what ED does about it because that mark you leave when you delete the pylon is something coarse and unpleasant to look at, but hey thanks mate for your oipinion, De todas maneras hablemos en español ya que no soy guiri xD ehhehe _______________________________________

Repth
Is anyone else getting this weird texture glitch on their skins? I haven't tried comparing the defaults yet to see if its the same but it seems to keep popping up for me. I have deleted my fxo and metashaders folders and ran a repair. It seems to be from where the cockpit tub integrates with the rest of the model. It's only visible from inside the cockpit. External views look normal. Akatsuki
Thx, i am pleased you like my paint. Sorry for my bad english. You are right its not easy to see where the seams are, but in the Template PSD is a Wireframe Layer on the top of all Layers, it helps to understand the 3D Mesh and the rest is trying and moving the paints to the seams til it works. Its best to use the Modelviewer to have a fast look to your paint. The only thing is, you have to close and reopen modelviewer every time when you change the skin to reload it completely with the 3D Model. How i wish there was a refresh function in the modelviewer.
SkateZilla
How i wish there was a refresh function in the modelviewer. there is a reload button, just not functioning correctly. For me, I set the autoexec to load the fa-18c.lods, and set it to load the livery I'm working on, Open Model viewer on one screen, make changes in photoshop on the other, while the DDS Compiles, close Model Viewer, when it's finished open model viewer. Paste your Entire Autoexec.lua and wrap w/ "CODE", Those 2 lines should be the last lines in the file, and not near the beginning otherwise you are trying to load a livery that isnt loaded.
