Silver_Dragon Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 (edited) True, then next week with ED patch I guess it will release ("early alpha"). Remember the 3rd parties has not control over the pre-orders and releases. That has work of ED. If we review the same situation with the old Heatblur AJS-37, they make the famous Twitch Viggen presentation on 2016 November, 11. ED publish the Newsletter with "pre-order" on 2016 December, 23, and was "release" near 20 days after, on 2017 January. By that, we can suppose the Tomcat can be a "release" near on late November, early December 2018. Other point, the Tomcat First Flight was on 1970 December,21. D4n Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 the Tomcat First Flight was on 1970 December,21. Interesting, but from the many and content-rich "development-updates" (forum threads) Heatblur posted so far I can only assume (and hope) work ("early alpha") is ~ 90-98% completed and could be ready by next week or next 2 weeks... Jrock Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 My hope/wish/dream: They announce available for Pre-Order and Release Date. Probable reality: Tomcat will be teased/shown off with another "soon" promise and a broken heart.

Gunslinger22 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I'm not holding my hopes very high. I will enjoy the stream, but I'm not allowing myself to be let down yet again by my own expectations with what Heatblur will release. Very excited to hopefully see a complete cockpit and beautiful exteriors though! "I'm just a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude."

Raven68 Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Yeah I have to agree, it's likely an announcement about the module being delivered to ED for internal testing and release will likely be around December once quality requirements are satisfied. And also true ED will have the final say on when we can have our hands on it. Other point, the Tomcat First Flight was on 1970 December,21. Wait, what? We've waited this long, wouldn't it have been so much cooler if it was actually released on the 50th anniversary? That's only in like 2 more years and change. They could have released some lesser module in the meantime and what not. So disappointed.. JG27_Arklight Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) While the countdown page is still up, have to admit I'm kind of confused by their slogan there - "Welcome back, baby". I get that it refers to "Anytime, baby" slogan, but Tomcat was not the "baby" there (IIRC, it was a response to a challenge to duel with the USAF F-15's). So, shouldn't it be in the form of "I'm back, baby" or "Guess who's back, baby" or "Guess who's coming to dinner, baby"? Correct (Norm Gandia was the creator, iirc). I remember it like it was yesterday (I lived by Miramar NAS during the 80's when Top Gun came out). The cat with the 6 shooters leaning with his elbow up. A bunch of the F-14 pilots out there had jackets with that patch on it. "Anytime, Baby" was and always will be an F-14 thing. :) Edited October 7, 2018 by JG27_Arklight Ark ------------------ Windows 10 Pro x64 9900K @ 5ghz Gigabyte Aorus Master Z390 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB CAS 14 EVGA RTX 2080 Ti Ultra XC2 256gb Samsung 869 Pro (Boot Drive) 1TB - Samsung 970 EVO Plus Seasoninc 1000w Titanium Ultra PSU 34" ASUS PG348
