joey45 Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 In the bin folder of the main directory.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Magic Zach Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Model viewer 2 has been around for longer than December. October even. I've been using the regular model viewer for ever, but while I had never opened MV2 that was right under it in /bin, I know it's been there for some time already. I recently has some issues, which in short required I do a decent repair, after deleting the regular model viewer. But after I've done the repair, the regular modelviewer is no longer in /bin, it wasn't put back in! But I've started to use MV2. There are some improvements as far as I can tell (took me a few minutes to figure out how to see liveries in MV2, with different things being reorganized), but it's similar enough I easily slipped into using it. Grajo Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Hi, Thanks for the post sadjad-vosoul. I did not notice that there was any improvement in the model viewer tool until I have read this post. I was working in some liveries for Mi-8 some time ago and I found it fairly useful, but this new version is just much better, specially because a part from many other new features and GUI improvements, now you can reload the textures from your liveries with the click of a button which speeds up the process of visualization a lot, specially when tweaking spec maps. Nice one Devs! Link to my MODs - So far...
Captain Orso Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 I believe the problem is known, the issue is it adds the DCS Root to the beginning of the saved games folders you add in the autoexec file. That's one issue, but it's more than that. I added 'c:\Users\Orso\Saved Games\edModelViewer2.openbeta\autoexec.lua' with: mount_vfs_liveries_path("../../../Users/Orso/Saved Games/DCS.Liveries") and it stops complaining about not finding the path, but it still doesn't find ANY skins in my DCS.Liveries folder and appears to then also not fand a bunch of 3d objects  When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. SkateZilla Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 It loads Livery Folders fine for me, It's just a matter of getting the path correct: For example I had to use "../" 4 Times to Back from the Current /DCS Installs/DCS World/Config/ModelViewer/ to the Root of the Drive, then the path is DCS.Aircraft/<aircraft>/Liveries. So if you're going from your /Saved Games/edModelViewer2.OpenBeta/Autoexec.lua, then you need to add "../" once to back to the main /Saved Games Folder, and then the path. The problem I do still have is if the Folders are on a Different Drive Letter so: mount_vfs_liveries_path ("../DCS.Liveries/") Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
