HP's Reverb VR Pro Headset

with what HMD ? I can read every instrument and every dial clearly at 100% the practical difference between 150 and above is frankly nonsense on a Reverb...

That’s not my experience at all It must depend on individual factors, e.g. eyesight. I see a huge clarity difference between 100, 150 and 200 on the Reverb. I always run at 200 and couldn’t go back to 100.

I occasionally look at the slideshow of 300% just for fun, and there is a big difference again. If only we had the hardware, eh?

maybe this is it , and i should have qualified on my hardware, i certainly find performance much more of a struggle above 125 and at that point the shuddering out weighs an potential graphical improvement that is theoretically possible

Just to add that 200% is equivalent to PD of 1.4, and 150% is 1.22. So, not that big.

Sorry to repeat that again, but there are still a lot of people here who don't seem to understand the relationship between the SteamVR SS and DCS PD numbers.

Yeah, Jensen or Lisa bump it all up! :D

Will Jensen or Lisa win? Nvidia or AMD. Who get's the crown jewel?

Will Jensen be aggressive as always? :D

so just for shits and giggles , and to show the same respect others have shown me :) I went in on 200% and yes there is a a very big difference in terms of cockpit quality... i can also say it turned into a stutter fest for me at 200% it was still an improvement but still took me regularly outside of motion vector parameters , the same is true of 150... and frankly 125 on my graphics settings

now i could tune a lot of that out to run without some other aspect of "shiny" ... reduce the draw distance etc... but that's just compromising in a different area . the cockpit is clearer but the game is unplayable ...

That is the balancing challenge with lots of choices :) don't get me wrong when that 3090 gets installed i will definitely be turning stuff up ... thanks for the eye opener ... right now it forces me to comprise in too many other areas, for me ) YMMV

Quickie Question : Does MSAA and SSAA do anything in WMR/Reverb?

I could not see any visual changes but did notice more GPU usage. Just curious, no biggie.

Yep, checked. Much better. Maybe go for the 3090 TI, instead 3080 TI with reverb G2. I'll think it will be in the 2000 dollar range with custom cardz.

3080Ti should be fine. I have no issues with the reverb and a 1080ti now. I'm not running 200% or anything like that. But I have pretty high dcs settings, 100% steam VR and Pd 1.0.

Either way the 3 series won't be cheap seeing how the stupid shroud costs $150 to make.

I miss my broken Reverb. But enjoy flying in my Rift no less.

I always thought I will buy a 3000 series Nvidia asap. But if it is too expensive or too slow I will just continue to fly in low fidelity for high FPS. The recent leaks and infos on the upcoming Nvidia offereings are not that promising. I expect at least 200% 1080ti performance for less $ than a 2080. Otherwise I will pass.

Not that promising? I'm surprised you say that. What is it that is underwhelming? I'm quite excited about the Ampere's arrival. Of course I will wait for the benchmarks first before buying but surely even the 3070 should beat the 2080ti in performance?

A 2080Ti is about 30% faster than a 1080Ti. 3080Ti is leaked to have about 40% over the 2080Ti.

1.) In this case a 3080Ti only achieves about 180% performance of a 1080Ti. I expect at least 200% improvement.

2.) There were rumors that Nvidia is aiming for lower prices than the 2000 series (7 nanometers cards are cheaper to produce). Recently there are rumors the price will further increase.

I want at least 200% more performance for less from my next GPU. Because I have lots of fun already on my current hardware. Else I wait for next gen or competitors offers.

Hello, I tried to find an optimal setting for my new Reverb and discovered that 90 Hz means 45 fps with reprojection, that I can not always achieve. So I tried to go to 60 Hz and 30 fps, but then I have non symetrical view for each eye. See picture. Am I the only one to have the problem ?

Finally, it's ok now. I don't know if it's because last OB, or the variable ["useDeferredShading"] set to 1, or the use of WMR debug tool, but all is symetrical now...That's the wonder of VR in DCS...

I am already saving my pennies for G2 and 30XX Ti.

I will take my time and wait to see how the dice rolls.

Probably upgrading both together will reduce the FPS gain seen but a 5 (probable) to 10 fps gain would be sweet with improved rez and field of view.

I am ready to be locked in at 45 Hz for a long time whilst the eye candy slowly but surely improves.

One day..... I will run 45 Hz continuous, maxed out graphically.... A day of joy for sure!

HP G2 Reverb, Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate as standard. OpenXR user, Open XR tool kit disabled. Open XR was a massive upgrade for me.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), 0 X MSAA, 0 X SSAA. My real IPD is 64.5mm. Prescription VROptition lenses installed. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC at the mo. MT user  (2 - 5 fps gain). DCS run at 60Hz.

Vaicom user. Thrustmaster warthog user. MFG pedals with damper upgrade.... and what an upgrade! Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height with brail enhancements to ensure 100% button activation in VR.. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound.... you know when you are dropping into VRS with this bad boy.

Ok so idiot question, but its driving me mad right now. I had to reformat my computer this weekend and now I have to reset this thing up for first time use. How do I get this thing to run DCS? All it wants to show me is the Microsoft home and desktop.

nvm, figured it out.

After having started this, Im now seeing a ton of apps running in the background now thanks to build 2004. HoloCameraApp.exe (2 processes), EnvironmentsApp.exe, WhatsNewApp.exe (3 instances), and this is really placing a huge load on the CPU now. These apps now pop up in mixed reality portal now, Ive never seen them prior to today. Ill be doing some testing to see if terminating these programs have any adverse effect on MRP. Micro$oft bloatware.
