[PLANNED 03 October 2019] Viper coming today in OB?

I don't think it will corrupt anything, but either way you should update the game first, then install Viper.
Well I hope you're right. Just a precaution tho

I don't understand how the viper integration is causing week after week of postponed updates and bugfixes.

Don't they use branches in their version control software to work on integration and bug fixes separately? When the viper is ready, merge it in. While this may cause some merge conflicts, I don't see how the whole update cycle is being halted by a new module. Especially considering the severity of some of the bugs present in the current version.

Well, that's because the only coder that was assigned to work on Hornet (part time) has been diverted to Viper... he can still sneak in (on the way to the bathroom) and quickly glance at Hornet's code randomly. (just kidding :D)

I read a post from a while ago that at the time they had 125 coders. Who knows how many they have now. I highly doubt that there is only 1 or 2 assigned to the Hornet.

Oct 3rd. What an awesome birthday gift lol

Hope that is true, since if we have to make it my birthday present we're all waiting until the 12th!

I know they updated the thread and that's great - but seriously - how about a news announcement on the ED website's news section. I need to know if I should put off seeing the doctor or not!

Considering they have many, many and even more projects going on, that seems plausible for me.

People, there are many projects ED is working on. Vulcan, cloudsystem, new populated carriers, help at third party developers and more. So every group is a team from 10 till 20 people. Some things take time to develop, inovation by trial and error! That takes a lot of time. :D

Why should we get one today if we get it tomorrow?

Because the F-16 release has nothing to do with regular updates, which include some rather overdue patches to other modules & bugfixes. We're way way overdue one at this point. They could release the F-16 & still not update anything else about the game.

But history showed us new Modules come with new versions, which is an update.

Not trying to pile on, but what makes us entitled to an OB release separately and then releasing

F-16 content the day after? If releasing OB and F-16 content the same day makes it easier for ED and it's only a day later for us, what is the problem?

I would be very surprised if they had more than 25 full time coders/devs..

They are working on new cloudsystem? WOW, I hope this time they take into account the multiplayer side of cloud, making a non synced cloud like the actual one makes all PvP unfair ( not BVR of course )
