New changes to JDAM/JSOW - STEP and Power

Dear Pilots,

We have made some changes to how power is applied to JDAM and JSOW, as well as how STEP works.

 

Please see the following video for info on the changes coming to an Open Beta near you.

 

 

 

Summary:

STEP

• STEP is available if more than one station is loaded with the same variant
  • If no QTY is defined (no stations boxed) STEP steps between all stations of the same variant with the priority sequence of 8 - 2 - 7 - 3
• STEP is available if more than one QTY is defined (ie stations boxed)
• STEP is not available if only one station is boxed in QTY
• STEP is not available if selected JDAM/JSOW variant is loaded to only one station

 

Power

• Selecting any JDAM/JSOW variant will power all JDAM/JSOW variants on the aircraft
• To cycle power, you must explicitly deselect (unbox) that variant, this will only cycle power on that variant
• Switching modes will no longer cycle power (ie switching modes such as switching to AA will not interrupt power to JDAM/JSOW)

Hi, any plans regarding JDAM/JSOW loaded on a dual rack? How can they get different PP (not PP1/PP2 but rather that each will have a PP1 so they both can be fired simultaneously)?

I tend to believe that (in RL) BRU-55 with Jdams are not compatible with the software version of the modeled SMS STORES page that we have...

How about stepping/setting PP targets to LR and RH JDAMS on the same station on the rack? You guys said you would make it avalible many months ago and still nothing

The main issue was with dual racks. Any update on that? Thks

 

There was also this dual racks problem (not sure if it's a bug or whether it has been fixed) -> If you select QTY Stns 3 & 7 only, the 1st pickle will dispense 2 bombs, 1 from each Stn (3 & 7). But the 2nd pickle won't work, no bombs will drop from any of the Stns. This does not happen if you select only Stns 2 & 8 in QTY in that the 1st pickle will dispense 2 bombs, 1 from each Stn (2 & 8 ) and the 2nd pickle will drop the remaining 2 bombs (from Stns 2 & 8 ).

Which part? What I describe in the video is coming to the next Open Beta. Dual rack JDAMs I am not sure if they need fixing or are still WIP.
