Perry Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Will there be different versions of the Ka-50 released ? The one shown in BS screenshots has a fixed nose mounted optic, but there are other (newer ?) versions with the optics mounted on a rotative sphere.

Q2: When I played some servers much ppl start from taxi not runway, so maybe good option would be add option of punishment to don't start from taxi? Example in multiplayer reduce player's points or something like that... In Singleplayer that would be speech from tower "what are you doing" "or too fast I guess" (when moving example 30 km\h) and fail mission. Of course Ka-50 won't start like plane so it would be in next DCS plane module. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... Q2: There is no "point" system planned and we have no such plan for this. ' Physics of gravity on Ammos, human unit, a burden from transport plane, particles from damaged plane and collision of solid objects will be helped by 'Physics accelerator', won't it? So.. more wainting, outcome better (But, I don't know technical problem)

As it is, water is modelled under the entire map, with lakes represented as windows to the water below. There are two big problems with this: - Water sucks up FPS, and with it being rendered under everything, it's horribly inefficient with resources. I love the highest water settings, and my computer can handle it over water but not land, that sucks. - When flying over a lake that's about 3000ft ASL, your depth perception is totally gone. One lake in particular deep in the Caucasus gives me headaches to fly over. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] If you fly a perfect Defensive BFM and the bandit does a perfect Offensive... Someone you know is going to be recieving Insurance money very soon.

To the best of my knowledge, the engine doesn't allow for that yet. The performance issue is a grey area. The team have said before that it takes more processing power to split up the water into several areas than it does to just have it modelled as one uniform ocean. May or may not still be true, but that's what's been said. Would the planned new engine (whatever this includes) make the terrain technology of BS outdated? Would ED want to invest the time in upgrading the current terrain to the new technology, build it again from scratch or go on to a new theater?
