ED Team Yo-Yo Posted October 30, 2007 ED Team Posted October 30, 2007 Thanks Wags! If we start the mission in winter, and the temperature is set to very low in the weather engine, will it have an incidence on those factors? If we start with or without snow, will it change the danger of getting those kind of failures? I think that the whole process of failures and especially the randomization of failures should be rethought profoundly. In FC the failures system is almost useless. Even with a randomization, there should be a sort of hierachy (some systems would be naturally more inclined to fail, even if randomized, than some others, and this depending on some weather conditions, for example). JEFX The iceing intensity has the maximum near -5...-10C because the frosty air is generally dry. Of course iceing intensity will be calculated in regard of clouds, precipitations, etc. The failures is to be reworked... and we working on it but it's not a fact that the whole system will be reworked. JEFX Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Thanks Yo-Yo for your answer. Of course iceing intensity will be calculated in regard of clouds, precipitations, etc. Does that mean that Iceing WILL be implemented in this build of BS? dali Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 wonderfull stuff Matt, thanks. This start-up procedure clearly shows the quality and origin of the ED team = it looks like full scale 2 mil $ military simulator ;)
leafer Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 well... now, other then the obvious eye candy and full system functionality that ED try to implement in DCS, are there any point in systems error checking in DCS? other then battle damage, are systems errors and damages randomized? Is it randomized? I seriously doubt it and it won't make the sim more or less realistic. But I bet if ED missed one doggone procedure, just one, doesn't matter how trivial that step may be, you just know some hardcore simmer out there will have a hardcore hernia. He'll quickly exit the game, blood-lust, come here and hound ED to no end. Wolf-wolf!!! ED, you included everything but not this? Why? Huh? Then the usual vultures that have been circling in that distant forum whose participants play vintage flight sim with repeating tiles will descend and join the tirade even though they don't have the game. then let's say that there are some systems error, what then? what are we supposed to do when we encounter such an event? can we "call" a mechanic? What then is you wait for a patch, silly. This patch will be made specifically for you so pound your chest and feel privilege. The down side? If it takes fifteen days to trouble shoot and fix your particular problem in real life on the real thing, then fifteen days it is for you before a patch is available for you to download. And you know patches are like Russian roulette. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

EvilBivol-1 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 It is possible to write the Startup procedure? No promises, but yes, we've discussed pre-releasing full start-up procedures once they are finalized. What you saw in the video is still not the full sequence. :) Mainly, the fire-extinguisher and INS systems are still not complete (INS is partially). Plus some little things like the parking brake, powering up and testing the EKRAN, VWS, etc. These are already working in the current build. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy.
