Thanks ED for the test flight F-15 / Su-27

Hi all, today i got a message from the module manager in the main menu that the F15c module was ready for download. I never bought the F15c and in the chat on a MP server some guy had the same message but with an Su27 he didnt buy. I didnt install the F15, but are there more people having this 'problem'? It would be bad if ED would miss out with money from these modules.

We have started the improvement of all our human models in DCS World. The first step is to create a reference database containing different parts of the human body and prepare prototypes that will be used for all models.

how we started observing the differences in our current models and note areas of improvements. The upgrades will be visible both in geometry and skinning throughout DCS World.

 

The picture with one hand is received from the scanner and drastically improves lead time for model creation. The other pictures compare new and old models.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the weekend free with the SU-27 and F-15. I have little interest in ether aircraft but I take them both for a spin (pun intended). I hope they keep this up and I look forward to trying out other modules in the future.

Just for clarification, this is just a free weekend? the steam post was kinda vague and i thought it could be a giveaway of the F15 and Su27 modules.

Yes, and why they don't literally have a popup box that says that when you load up DCS is beyond me.

 

I guess they like having people ask about it all weekend.

I got the notification and now I have the F-15C and the SU-27 in my Installed Modules.

 

So, if I'm reading this correctly I can play these modules this weekend, then they quit working?

Yea, then you have to remove them or it gives you an error every startup check. Either way they won't work after the weekend unless you buy em.

I was right in the middle of trying to make a video and this popped up.

 

Now every time I hit my space bar Shadow Play start recording. When I press Alt + Enter to put DCS in Fullscreen mode Task Manager pops up. WTF?

 

I got rid of Direct T.V. for adding things to my programming that I didn't ask for. I hope I'm not going to have to do the same thing with ED. :mad:

 

If I wanted F15-C and SU-27 I would have bought them by now. I don't want them. Now I have to sort out how to get my keyboard short cuts working right again. I'll probably end up having to reinstall windows and everything else. :mad:

How do I get rid of this? I don't want it. It's messing up my keyboard short cuts and making it difficult for me to record videos in DCS.

 

Is there a way to opt out of these unwanted "free" weekend deals?

"Strike Fighter", for the FA-18 is literally one of my all time favorite missions ever. I would love to see a campaign based off these podcasts!

I just DL'd the F-15 and Su-27. There are no training missions for the F-15,

but plenty for the Su-27. Is it supposed to be that way? I would like to try the Eagle,

but with no training, I don't know where to start. :(

 

BTW, I am on 2.5.6 Beta

Yeah, you’re best way to learn is Youtube or guides. They need to solve it by the time MAC comes out

I downloaded, installed...spent almost an hour trying to fix the HOTAS assignments and Axis. Then took off, circle the field, landed and uninstalled. Thanks for the flight but I'm not going backwards to a no fidelity cockpit regardless of how much I really like this plane.

Call me when you have a clickable High-Fidelity version...I'll buy right away.

i own FC3 and was prompted to install both F15 and SU27. locked up after install, ended task and restarted. works ok now. just fyi

Funny enough that's coming. There's an F15E strike eagle module with high fidelity cockpit announced some time ago.

F-15 and Su-27 have suddenly appeared

 

This might sound crazy, but yesterday when I loaded DCS it said the Su-27 and F-15 modules were available for download. I hit yes without much thought, but now these modules are available for me to fly. I never paid for anything, curious know how this happened?? Not that I'm complaining, I was planning to buy both of these modules in a few months anyway.

I agree with previous poster that original advert was a little misleading. I thought they were offering the 2 planes as a "one weekend only, get it while you can" freebie special that you got to keep. Wish they had used the word demo or something in there making it clear they would stop working & I never would've messed with it. Like other posters, the downloads have now caused some other ancillary problems, but thankfully I'm still a bit of a noob & hadn't done tons of customization yet.

 

Uninstalling through MM now & hoping that puts everything back to normal. I guess I should've realized they were temporaries. Live & learn!

GO VOLS! i can confirm that is how i got the message about time limit on the modules to go away by deleting from the module manager.

I have a flaming Cliffs licence but I still gt the message about F15C and SU27 being expired! very annoying!
