joker62 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 When i read about this, i wanted to watch the cockpit. Great improvement! For the first time I can clearly distinguish all the ASP. However, the ASP glass does not allow good visibility. The volumetric lighting for gauges are really nice. And finally a cleaner canopy glass. ... (so clean that you don't even see it. Sorry for the joke) Good job!!!
medway Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Looks nice. On my system I'm getting green sections of the cockpit and from exterior view the glass is so clean it's completely transparent. I'm on a 270X though so maybe it doesn't support the new features.
Art-J Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) ^ Nah, both things you mentioned are "universal" bugs, already reported in the bugs section. Devs are aware. In the meantime, to get rid of green pit textures, you can switch to default Russian one If you don't mind cyrylic alphabet ;). Hiromachi Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 The FPS drop can only be related to gauge lights since they use new lightning. streakeagle Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 I love the mirror... no more 30 year old outdoor gate guard crappy seal. The taxi light switch mapping was fixed, too. With the improved flight model and this new cockpit combined, it is pure pleasure to fly. It took an awful long time to get here, and it isn't done yet, but thank you for what we finally have right now. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
YSIAD_RIP Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 (edited) Installed OB 2.5.6.50726: Ejection Graphics & Cockpit glass Hi Hiromachi - Minor graphics bugs to report/confirm here. I used Caucasus Cold Start and Free Flight for my screenshots. 1) I did not see a Bug track for "Invisible Canopy when viewed externally so I included a screenshot (1.1 Clear Screen.png) for reference. 2) When Ejecting on Ground or in AIR there are extra ground objects rendered. See screenshots for reference (2.1 EjectGround/png & 2.2 EjectAir.png). I know this is easy to fix at some point, just wanted to post here and say thanks for your hard work Edited June 11, 2020 by YSIAD_RIP Do not own: | F-15E | JF-17 | Fw 190 A-8 | Bf 109 | Hardware: [ - Ryzen7-5800X - 32GB - RX 6800 - X56 HOTAS Throttle - WINWING Orion 2 F16EX Grip - TrackIR 5 - Tobii 5C - JetPad FSE - ]
MarvK Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 These are the textures I have after today's patch for the MIG-21. Hope you can see the green hue on several of them. Unless I'm missing something? :(
rossmum Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Worth note - I only see covers/ladder on other players' 21s on MP, when they eject. On both SP and MP my own aircraft never shows them following ejection. There's a new ejection bug which does affect own aircraft where the camera follows the seat rather than the pilot's first person view, then switches at seat separation - I've already told Hiro about this though. These are the textures I have after today's patch for the MIG-21. Hope you can see the green hue on several of them. Unless I'm missing something? :( The English cockpit has some known issues at the moment, use Russian like Mikoyan intended

Tesarus Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 New cockpit is beautiful! Hopefully we will get not so weathered and re-painted cockpit in the future!
cro_mig_21 Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 New cockpit and lights are just Fantastic and on top that, I have absolutely zero fps loss with the new interior lights (flood, gauge, panel light all tested in night missions). Thank you for the great update!
Freddo Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Thank you for the new cockpit lights, they look fantastic and I have no FPS losses. Flying at night is absolutely awesome. Also because the annoying lights in the external 3D model are finally gone. In addition to the already known things, I also noticed: - ASP scale lighting is initially ON and even without power. - The controls for the instrument lighting and backlighting of the lettering need an initial impulse and cannot be set to off after the first use. Thanks for the many updates in the past few weeks, the MiG is getting better and better. Maybe we'll get a real ARK system at some point ;-) Module: viel zu viele... Warte auf: Fulda Gap, MiG-23, xy (4th. Gen RED) und mehr neue und alte Propeller wie P-38, Corsair, DC-3, Transall, Tucano usw. Projekt: OpenFlightSchool -> Thread

Etirion Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 MiG21 is looking awesome with the new update, well done! English textures work again as well.
Grajo Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 The new cockpit looks gorgeous. Sadly it has been already some months after some update that framerate started to be really bad inside the cockpit for me. under 30 fps most of the time. I tested today in all its glory. Might be the new beta volumetric lights or something but the framerate drops to 8 and goes up slowly to 45 and down again to 10... in a kinda weird buggy loop. I understand my Asus ROG laptop it is quite outdated: GeForce GTX 960M Intel Core i7-6700HQ 32 Giga of RAM But I can run most of DCS modules in a threshold from 30 to 45 FPS depending of Module and map. Time to buy a new gaming laptop I guess. :[ Link to my MODs - So far...

YSIAD_RIP Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 (edited) WIP = MiG-21 is getting her Soul Back! I AM CANADIAN: Admire and respect this module. Excellent to see this classic module get the refresh it deserves. The Project Team should not be worried about the little challenges that come up; as long as you can keep communication and updates flowing to your customers, there should be less noise when things "render and execute in unexpected ways"! I spun up my OLD STABLE DCS 2.5.5 and took some comparison screenshots of the exterior and nighttime cockpit for reference and comparison. I'm lazy and rarely update my drivers, on 438.something I've never experienced the radar-associated performance loss people have on newer drivers.
streakeagle Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I had a combination of issues that forced me to revert to older drivers with a GTX 1080. I am running 436.30, which solved my other issues and unexpectedly made DCS world run a little bit better, too. Both in VR and desktop monitor modes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Grajo Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Wooouuu !!! O_O. Amazing performance improvement !!! Downloaded and installed the oldest Drivers I could find for my model 441.66. Now I can enjoy flying MiG-21 again along with all it's new updates . Pretty stable Framerate from 45 to 35 depending on areas loaded from the map, what it's normal, at least for me. Cockpit performs better than Spitfires also. Thank you so much guys!!! Link to my MODs - So far...
