Well... on the Moose Range, when you have smoke marker on every unguided missile impact point, don't expect miracle. You can test your pc performance that way, just shoot 64 missiles in one dive attack and see if you get CTD (:

Thanks Taz! Great mod. I flew my Spitfire low through a WW2 tank battlefield in VR. With the canopy and pilot door open. I swear I could taste the oil in the smoke. Scared the hell out of me.

Is it possible to create a "bonfire"? I have a mission with some scattered settlements where I'd like to place a smoke source (chimneys/yard fire etc) ... but I can only use the "big smoke" effect which, even on the smallest settings, is quite a sizeable burn (and dark smoke). A "domestic" gentle but visible white smoke source as an object would be good.

Hey,. i just wanted to ask if you changed the crater graphics?!

I am getting this pan cake craters again.

I think in the last version of your mod there was a more "vein" like texture to it - which you could see on the forums post screens.

cheers

It's in SP version because people reported IC issues with it.  You can get around it by restarting DCS but increasing number of people were reporting it so I just moved it to SP version.

If you had no issue with it in MP, just copy it from SP version.

Great mod, thank you! Is there a way to keep the original smoke height for downed planes(SP version)? I like all the effects, especially the dust when the plane hits the ground, I just prefer vanilla debris smoke.

I've been using this mod for a long time ; is it compatible with 2.5.6.59398 ?

Taz, do you know ifits possible to edit the A-10 gun smoke?

I’d like to make it a little thicker, but first and foremost make it stay longer

I'll have to take a look but gun smoke might not be unique to each aircraft and changing may change all gun smoke.

Do other aircraft have guns? I hadn’t noticed. 😉

Hey Taz, another question. What value can I edit to make the smoke from burning vehicles be as sensitive to the wind as EDs "huge smoke" effect?

I would like them to get the same lean in the wind.

Excellent looking mod! But at least versions 7 and 8 break night lighting for me. Specifically burning vehicles no longer illuminate their surroundings. Otherwise great job.

There you go. First two pics with the mod, the last two without.

As a side note, I got version 5 and it seems to be working fine.

And thank you for having a look at this!

Thank you for that report.  Apparently, I turned off lighting for debugging and forgot to turn it back on.

Updated to v8.1

  • Fixed vehicle explosion glow.

Been testing out this mod and it's very cool so far!

I had one quick q: is there an easy way to adjust the TIME the smoke lasts? I prefer to have my wreckage burning for a very long time, so the battlefield is full of smoking ruins. I assumed there way a setting somewhere in one of the files that you can adjust the time in seconds that the fires burn for? Thanks for any tips!
