WelshZeCorgi Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 (edited) not sure if DCS was working on this previously but the mig21 does have an icing windshield option. Can we get icing effects on windshields, canopy and airframe/engines? Edited October 13, 2020 by WelshZeCorgi 2
Northstar98 Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 +1 Could say the same for condensation effects Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk. diveplane Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 not only ice externally and internal , but wet weather effects puddles and raindrops hitting ground some reflection option would be cool. jet wash blast. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Dragon1-1 Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 I'd love that. Icing itself seems to be implemented, I once had my pitots plug up on the A-10C when I forgot to flip the pitot heat switch. I'd love to see more FX related to weather, though.
Northstar98 Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Yeah engine icing and pitot tube icing is modelled, to at least to some degree. Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 We'd have to wait for the new weather system to be implemented. Pitot icing is indeed modelled in some way, engine icing is not - except for the odd warning message spam in the Hornet a while ago that was really not based on anything external. WelshZeCorgi Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 Any update to this? Any mention of icing effects being implemented as the weather systems get into DCS?
Ducksen Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I support having ice build up when that is logical and would happen. Does not have to be 100% correct to real life, just a safe approximation. See the ice form, get the inlet ice warning and having to de-ice of face having controls freeze up. Extend the slats and have chunks of ice break off. And yes! I know! DCS is not a commercial flight sim, but DCS is flying non the less Hehehe code intensifies

Harker Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 +1 to all weather effects on airframes, in general. And it'd be nice if it was implemented globally, not in a case by case basis. 1 The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
