Cheers mate, sorry been a late reply. Once downloaded this file how do i get it to work in Dcs 2.9 open beta? Im new to all this pc stuff 😅😁👍🏻

Unzip file and put the folder into saved games/DCSopenbeta/Mods/aircraft and away you go. Do not put the folder in the DCS World root folder.

After ED latest patch (Open beta 2.9.2.49629) loaded cargo falls through the ground. Any chance of getting a new Hercules_Cargo.lua or am I missing something?

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. Been a while. So i dowloaded the file above. And copied the contents from the  "unzipped" folder into my dcs open beta aircraft. Still not getting this in this c130 showing ??

@ Ghostmaker.........Try dragging it to Saved Games as in : C:\Users\major\Desktop\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft

Hi, just curious and wondering if the Hurc creator will update the Hurc Mod for DCS Version 2.9?
Thanks,
Timex 3
Probably not, (why would they), as they are making a full official 3rd party module. IE. No more updates for the MB-339 when it was going to be a full official module.
Cheers!

Probably easier to just copy the ZIP into C:\Users\[Username]\Desktop\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft   >> then unzip there. If that works you can go back and find where you put the Hercules ver 6.8.2 directory originally and delete it.

It's a free 3rd party Mod, not an aircraft (per se) so it needs to go to Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft\ directory. It does NOT belong in the C;\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\

I made the same mistake (several times 😟) until our esteemed colleague @Rudel_chw  got me sorted out. His instructions and suggestions led me to add a another 500GB SSD dedicated to EagleDynamics and free up the C:\

Some updates might actually stir up more interest in a future PURCHASE for some people on the fence about it's value in the SIM. Eye candy screenshots aren't very convincing me in our digital world anymore, I'd prefer some functionality for known significant issues. Just an opinion...

The official MB339 can be tried for free, for a two week period. there is no need for the original Mod anymore.

I dont have a mod folder in saved games that isnt on the c:\ drive. I have a mod folder on the c:\ however so whats the best way to save 500GB

It looks like you have no MODs at all right now, and that shouldn't be a problem. I'm no expert but create a \mods folder inside \DCS.OpenBeta, then create a \aircraft folder inside \mods.

Then copy/paste your ZIP into \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft and unzip it.

Theres a mods folder inside the c drive directry and aircraft in there which is where ive put them but im having no joy

Don't put it there. That's the DCS installation directory, and user mods cannot run from this location. You'll only get an "authorization invalid" error message when you try this.

The path from your screenshot is slightly wrong, Like AvgWhiteGuy says, just create a new folder "mods" there.

Your wrong path:

C:\Users\aron\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Aircraft

The correct path:

C:\Users\aron\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\aircraft\

Then inside of that, extract the C-130 mods in its own subfolder so that it looks something like this:

Ok a little update .. i must be doing something wrong still as none of these are still working.

I added a new "Mods" folder and within the mods folder i added "Aircraft" folder and extracted the files into Aircraft.

I also extraced the helmet folder into mods.

Should these new aircraft show in instant action?

help.... 😅

Yes you have for Caucasus, Persian Gulf and Syrie, just"click" on icon in DCS main page

Never used either of these mods, so I don't know where the helmet pack should be extracted, but your folder tree for the Hercules mod appears to be correct. I've just downloaded it - screen below shows what you should see in Instant action menu now, with Caucasus missions as an example.

If you can't see them, I suspect you either might have some mod trash/leftovers still kept in your main DCS folder (perform a repair & cleanup then), or one of the other mods, probably outdated, causes problems. The only way to tell is to remove all mods from Saved Games and test them again one by one. Trial and error method.
