WarriorX Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Mavyalex, I just played a mission by Bahger titled "Taking out the Trash". I highly recommend it as it was a great mission. The infantry in that mission does move on the ground to secure a town. I don't want to spoil it with any more details but to answer your question, yes the infantry can move. Merc Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I think we should have the ability in multiplayer to select skin and tail number prior to takeoff. I guess this would be a good thing to have for a lot of squads out there. It just gives you back the impression that you are flying your assigned plane. I think that's pretty much self explanatory. - Nachtwolf

Totally bogus to have to quit the game to make a simple adjustment.
alphie Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Could we get the ability to have the friendly infantry use IR strobes for ID? This would add immersion, and aid in preventing fratricide when labels are off when bluefor is in close contact with enemy during low light/night missions. QFT! I was hoping to see IR strobes from the friendlies as well.
hog_driver111th Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) A-10C Textures I'm not sure where to post this question, and part of it is a wish... so please don't get on me for not posting in the wishlist area. When repainting the A-10C (which I can do just fine, and looks great), aside from the issues with MP that I haven't testing in Beta 4 about only the server admin seeing his/her own jet in the colors selected... I'm still having an issue with the board numbers. Is there a way that it can be changed for the ME to set a 3 digit board number instead of a 2 digit? It's really tough to paint 1 digit, and enter the other 2 digits into the ME and get it all aligned properly. It would also make repainting so much easier. (Better yet, can you allow it so that I can paint all 3 numbers on the tail/nose so each person in the server sees it... or whichever way would work best?) No other issues here so far with Beta 4, and I'm really loving this sim (I think my wife knows it too... she's let me buy the TIR5, TM MFDs, Pedals, and I'm soon getting the TM WH, plus!... She's letting me build a full realistic cockpit of the A-10C). As you can see in the photo, sort of, the first "4" in "454" looks different. That's the one I painted on using Amarillo Font, but can't get it to looks just like the others. Краш Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 3 keys for a friendlier radio menu Hi, Just an idea for a more friendly radio menu on DCS series : It could be really nice to map on joystick. Even 2 buttons are efficient 'down' and 'validate'...and exactly 2 buttons (up & push) are free on 'mic switch hotas warthog'... May it be considered ? :music_whistling: 4

skypirate Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 New HOT regions I recon this has been discussed many times. Yet, I'd like to bump it up again. Now that the A-10 sim is very close to be perfect, it is time to start thinking about something new and exciting - as to fly out of the Black Sea region. Indeed I know there is Nevada Map in the pipeline, but it kinda seems to me unrealistic to fight opposing force on the American soil. My proposal - why not adding the Persian Gulf. It has been, it is, and it will be playground for many conflicts. I still remeber the long night hours flying in and out of Iran on my beloved F-19 :alien:(see the map to release more memories) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Regards!
PeterP Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Good point! But....nobody is perfect- we need a fourth key: "Back" I would set them to my trim hat with a modifier .It would make the communication much more natural.

BKLronin Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Yep really good idea I guess it´s pretty complicated or not possible at all. Thats something only ED can give us. *prays* [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Fantastic idea. But a 4th key would be good. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. sobek Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Would be nice if it could be made to work in conjunction with the existing radio keys. First, select which radio, then use the radio keys to navigate. Unfortunately we won't be getting any new features in the upcoming release. Maybe something for the next module. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Migo Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Yea it really sucks that one must have 12 keys available to use the radio menu.

lefuneste01 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 It should be SO great to be able to restart a campaign mission from a track ! Lastly, I discover that we can achieve the missions goals from a track, after taking over the commands. The wingman also answers to orders and all seems functional. So I though that one of the main gameplay weakness of simulation was overcome: the lack of savegame. Indeed, the simulation has a very steep learning curve, and the lack of savegame is very disheartening for newcomers. It is also disheartening for peoples (like me) which can not spend several contiguous hours because they have some family responsibility (the Wife Agreement Factor !). Therefore, I play in a frustrating way, using time acceleration (and “warp” in other Sims, for example). In addition, with the A10C weapon profile and other settings to enter at each mission try I’m afraid it will be more frustrating. Some feature are really great one time per mission, but boring if you have to do them at each restart. I though that the track feature can overcome the lack of savegame for the campaign, you open the track, speed up the part you don't want to replay, and take control when you want. You can also go in outside view and admire the graphics of this sim, waiting the good moment to take control. But no... I made a track for an unsuccessfullly mission of Blackshark and replayed it, but unfortunately, the success of the mission after tacking control in track was not recorded in campaign. I'm afraid it will be the same for A10C. So it seems to me that with a little efforts from ED we should have a great feature in gameplay, which will be unique in the flight simulation softwares I know. Of course, some people will argue that this is not realistic, but this will only be an option and flying several times the same mission to finally achieve it is also not very realistic ! What do you think about it ? Intel i5 10400K @4.8 GHz, 3080ti, 32 GB RAM, Varjo Areo. I spend my time making 3dmigoto VR mods for BoS and DCS instead of flying, see https://www.patreon.com/lefuneste
StrongHarm Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Knee Board I think what would really tie my experience together in DCS-A10 would be an editable kneeboard. If a key could pop up a zoomed view of a kneeboard that would contain mission briefing data, charts, etc. it would really be useful. Also, if there were notes pages (keyboard transitions to text entry when notes page is in focus) that was persistent across missions, from a text file in the DCS folder, I'd be giddy. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm

Tornado_Pilot Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 For me... a more realistic ejection sequence. I think, this one's pretty much on the bottom of the list, bit it would've saved my pilots life more often. Pointing at my thread regarding the same topic, there were some charts postet, and some guys even tested actual situations with quite "catastrophic" results. I recognised a lot of improvements regarding that topc in BS. After the last patch, the sequence was much faster and so seemed more realistic...and at last believable. I think it wouldn't be that hard to use the charts posted in my thread, taking some points out of there, and then loosely calculate the graph to get a similar curve as the charts. I know, this is not DCS:ACES II, but i think it's worth it.

Kuky Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Sounds in DCS and ButtKicker This post is for ED and somewhat a "request" for slight change in how sounds are handled in future DCS modules... reason behind is that I recently purchased ButtKicker which is basically a subwoofer only it does not produce sound waves but creates shaking only and it works from the speaker output. I quite like it only its use can be as good as sounds reproduction in game... I have set it up for example so that I get the shake when wind turbulence is on, when you are pulling high AoA, I get a shake when bombs are dropped or wepaons jettisoned, and when gun is fired and this is all nice and adds extra to the feel when flying, but one gripe I have now about sounds in FC and DCS is that many sounds are "shared" for different situations, for example... planedistortion sound is there when flaps are down, airbrake is extended and landing gear... but also for high AoA... so if I wanted to adjust diferrent intensity of this same effect I can't do it because in game they all use the same sound file and have same configuration entry... can this possibly be adjusted for future development so that we can adjust levels of these sounds to suit such needs... for when we use ButtKicker as an example? thanks for reading and I hope in future I see something like this in effect :pilotfly: PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

Kuky Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Can I add one more thing about my idea of "adding support" for ButtKicker... basically I just an idea that this could be done in similar way DCS A-10C MFD's are duplicated... for example, sounds could be duplicated, moreover, if this is possible (sounds to be duplicated) then maybe they could be sent to another output device like a secondary sound card. Basically idea comes from what I've done last night, I normally use X-Fi PCI sound card and have headset plugged into it, but last night I tried enabling onboard sound also and I connected both outputs from sound card and motherboard onboard sound and merged them into 1 output and plugged headset into that and it works... reason I did this was to eliminate sound from TeamSpeak so I don't get vibrations when people speak (believe me it's anoying). So I'm just thinking if this can be done with why not simply duplicate sound effects that are supposed to make the airframe shake and anyone with ButtKicker can have it working great without any sideffects? thanks for reading again, I hope my idea is possible and will be implemented one day.
