upyr1 Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Just a random thought, if Eagle were to set a definitive time line for DCS, what years would that be? SInce we have the I-16 I would say some time in the 1930s, though hypothetically lets say some some wealthy American Civil War buff approached DCS with plans to do DCS :Gettysburg what would the reaction from Eagle be? 1
SharpeXB Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 DCS: Intrepid. Full fidelity systems and flight model… 2 i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
draconus Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 I don't think DCS will ever go farther back than WWII. Mind that I-16 fought as long as up to 1943 afaik. There might be some older aircraft developed but purely for their flying enjoyment as no map or other assets would fit them. The issue that there is no fitting map nor any surrounding assets for a module at its release has previously never stopped development in DCS.

darkman222 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 You can push that even more. Install the wright flyer mod by Grinelli and you can have DCS take place in 1903
