Sacarino111 Posted August 7, 2022 Posted August 7, 2022 +1 That is a really odd placement! Did you tried the "remove objects from map" thing? I never did it, so it is just a guess... Saludos. Saca111 1

Callsign112 Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Thanks, I just wanted the location so I could fly into it with a plane that has a damage model to see if anything happens. Whats even funnier is there doesn't seem to be any other street lights close by, just that one. 2
Hiob Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 That looks like leftover from the developers messing around while testing the map.... Other than that I can't imagine a reason to randomly drop a streetlight there.... 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

I have no idea (really), but I guess it some kind of routine to automatically place "civilian items" when developping the map. but nobody saw this one! Cheers. Saca111
=475FG= Dawger Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 (edited) If you are willing to edit the mission, it is easy to make it disappear. Drop a trigger zone on the offending light pole and then create a MISSION START trigger that uses SCENERY REMOVE OBJECT ZONE to remove it. null Edited August 10, 2022 by =475FG= Dawger 2 3

Sacarino111 Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Hi. And yes, after 10 seconds, the pole desapears. I had to do that 10 seconds delay, because the "at mission start" wasn't doing the trick. Saludos. Saca111
=475FG= Dawger Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 Strange. Mission start worked fine for me. Glad you got it working.
smire666 Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Maybe that pole was reason for the threshold-displacement, check the RWY marks
Zeagle Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 Yes, many airports have displaced thresholds for those types of obstacles. Our runway in college had a displaced threshold for a powerline. I distinctly remember many close views of that powerline. I would leave it where it is. 2
Kang Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 There is an almost identical situation at Haifa as well. 1
Zeagle Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 The displaced threshold is obviously there for the road. You don't want to be dragging your gear into delivery vans. Also, in the image above, which is so blurry you could not even see a pole if it existed, there are what appear to be trees near the red mark. I would be willing to bet that those trees are every bit as high as a light pole.
trelos57 Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 no light pole in Kingsfield and those ain't trees but bushes as far as i know. There should be no obstacles there. video proof. A bit old but should be the same today. 2 1

Raviar Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) meanwhile you can define a Zone and use triggers to remove all objects in the zone, so put it in the very tiny small zone and remove it, I dont think they will anything before releasing of Normandy2 Edited November 25, 2022 by Raviar
chaos Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 There's similar obstacle on approach to RWY21 at Beirut, I believe. If you follow the ILS GP you'd be scraping the roofs of some of the buildings once you're passing through approx. 1000'. 1 Dot low and you're toast... Very annoying... "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."
