What I suspect is, ED has a modern fighter team dedicated to the F18/F16 and other projects, from experience they usually work in sprints.

As of now given recent updates, the team is making a hard push at the F16, meaning probably there is 1/2 people not full time on the hornet, or maybe just 1 for bug squashing. After the big F16 push is finished, which could be already, the modern fighter teams moves again to the hornet and other project to finish remaining items, mostly FM, loft modes and hopefully revisiting some implementations (MSI/track files/ look down radar capabilities)

Due to lack of answer from ED, i think you’re right, only a very small team still work on hornet.

For sure, i will no more buy EA from ED. It’s impossible for me to support them anymore.

Size of the team doesn't matter,

why would they keep 150 people (for example) working on 1 system when they can do it with 5 people.

The problem lies in the documentation availability, if they are not done with something, usually it means they are having trouble getting valid documents so they can give us the best representation they can. Sometimes those documents cost money, cause they are held by some museum or government agency, declassified but not free for everyone.

So I'd rather wait for something then get some fictional or even arcade representation, and I will support the projects they do cause I think they are doing a good job.

Yeah, let's let them go broke. What will you fly then?

Well, put into perspective the hornet is like 90%-95% complete even in this EA state and that is already more complex that some full games out there.

I don't doubt ED will always provide support the hornet and will finish what is left. So nothing to be worried about and no reason to stop supporting them in the future at least IMHO.

No, not even it close. I'd give it maybe 60% complete. And that's a stretch.

That means that 40% of the functionality isn't there. Would you care enumerating those 40%? Having never flown a real Hornet, I can't really tell, but I am curious, since it appears you have insight.

With just what we know from available documentation, it's easily 40 percent.

Flight Model issues I'm not going to count as there's no way to quantify that.

Here's a document we put together a while back taking some of the missing functionality and explaining it.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qOyE7L1CJ0R1x1kvUZQ4SlvxLsRVb-7RbW68ki1jgJc/edit?usp=drivesdk

This isn't even close to all of the issues. Expect for the A/A section we didn't cover any of the bugs.

Thanks. Many many work to do….

ED is far from the end of EA. I think we will wait 2 and 3 years more before to have a full hornet.

I was shocked last year as ED came up with the idea to bring the Hornet out of EA, as there was and still is much to do.

Even basic stuff as damage model and AI (+comms) are still unfinished.

If I get a "full released" module i want those things to work properly.

But I also understand that this thing is way to long discounted with EA bonus.

So there are 2 things to do.

1. ED have to draw a line what things they want finished for release and what things will come after release (which doesn't cripple the "full release" part. I.E. Mk-77)

2. ED have to think about if they let the Hornet stay in EA until they get their stuff done or create a new step between EA and full release, like "Released but incomplete" or so you can see as a customer that this is very far in development and it's worth it's money but some things aren't still working right.

Greetings

In DCS "Released but incomplete" means it will be almost forgotten and never finished. ED will allocate resouses into another EA module and that resouses won't come back to "Released" module again. A-10C and A-10C II are perfect examples.

I don’t want them go broke. But it could be happen if ED continue to make very too long EA like hornet/viper etc.
Now i don’t believe ED when they publish any plan, roadmap and News.
Perhaps they don’t care but loose trust with old player like me it’is not a very good News.

Here other very older player...

I dont expected the Mk77 or the X-Decoy, has technologies outside the module.

For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF

Projects will always take a long time, the complexity of these modules is very high.

I know you support us in your own way and we appreciate it, some people can not help but be negative, and we understand that.

Early access is optional, you do not have to participate in it, and maybe going forward if the long development times dont suit you for future projects you should consider waiting for a full release.

Either way you have given your feedback on this many times in the past and again here in your latest thread.
