On the whish list here would be nice to have some proper JTAC units.

What i mean by that is for example the TOW Humvee is having best detection ... don't know what parameters are defining this capability. Other vehicles are not so capable and need to be much closer to a target.

Having a dedicated unit vehicle and/or soldier, looking more closely to a stealth unit, I think would be more appropriate for the game play then using the TOW vehicle...

@Arrow11Thank you for heads up... i wasn't aware. Those units looks excellent, only the soldier is not moving and require transportation... just need to check their spotting capabilities.... thanks again ! 🙂

I’ve always had LOS issues with that mod

Can you add M270

with you add  DV 15  BTR4  M142

I think it is very simple just require import export edm

thx

Importing and exporting EDs models would be a violation of the DCS EULA.

This is what I understood personally

Do you mean that these mods are of your own making? And it does not apply to everyone except for those who made it personally, like you It can be offered to everyone and not sold or anything like that Thanks for the info  UR MOD LAU

The credit goes back to edm_plugins +3dmax =export .edm fly:pilotfly:

I will delete all responses😂

Yes, my mods are made by me. Although, to save time I usually buy 3d models which includes the right to make changes to them, export them to EDM and distribute them in this non editable format.

I've noticed some odd behavior with the GLSDB and GMLRS. Occasionally they'll completely overfly their target and start doing vertical loops back to the area or wide horizontal orbits.

@currenthillthese seem like a possible opportunity

Desert patrol vehicles

It'd be interesting to see these vehicles (or a possible PLA or Iranian IRGC counterpart) equipped with some sort of pintle-mounted FIM-92 or Qian Wei 18 MANPADS.  Something like this could breathe some life into low-level helicopter and fixed-wing CAS/deep strike operations.

Dear user community!
Unfortunately, it is again the case that it becomes an issue when a creator of a mod does not give the source of the creator of the actual model used. Currenthil is to blame for this condition. In all his mods there is not a single reference to it, so the belief arises that he had created the models himself. It is an excellent job by him and even more creditable is the fact that he purchases models of this quality and shares them here. with the purchase of a model, however, he is not automatically the author of it. The license terms of the model providers clearly regulate the use and distribution of these, as well as the fact that the source must be stated when a model is purchased and published. VSN's mods contain this reference in all their mods. also just read under Credits in Railway Assets Pack by EightBall, who also gives this hint. the same applies of course to uploaded images from the net. As can be seen constantly here in the forums, images are inserted without citing the source. It would be so easy.

Haha, what?

Please refrain from slinging unfounded accusations around. I really don't have to explain myself to you, but okay. The 3d models I purchase comes with a license that doesn't require me to credit the 3d models original creator. As long as I make sure not to distribute the original model in its native format I'm following the license agreement. In the rare cases I use models with a different license agreement I credit the creators as per their wish, a good example is the Swedish Military Assets where I used some models with this kind of agreement.

I would appreciate if we could keep this thread on topic. 👍🏻

Not every licensing requires citing the source.

@Urbithe guys explained already to you how things are working... pretty clear I would say and documented as well. Why don't you just step back and let these guys to enrich our beloved game? They have better work to do then reading a "ChatGPT" like comment?

@Currenthill Ignore muppets. Your mods are the best. Love to see what you could achieve if you did this full time. Keep up the great work

Thank you!

Same - this is amazing stuff :). How long does it typically take for you to make one of these things? I'm just curious.

Thanks! Well, since I've done quite some assets by now, and I love process improvements, my workflow is getting pretty efficient. I usually have at least a couple of assets in the works at the same time, so that I can switch between them if I get bored, stuck or just annoyed by one of them. 😅

A large asset like a ship probably takes like a week or two (since I'm working on several assets at once and I have a day job). The smaller ones can be made in like 4-5 days.

Interesting. Tbh, & as much as I hate to say this, I'm probably just wasting your time, here, unfortunately, as I don't even play DCS, lol, smh, but I saw The Grim Reapers HIMARS, etc. video on The YouTube (sorry - bad joke) & subsequently became really intrigued about the possibility of running a similar simulation, albeit with an air defense system that has yet to see combat in the form of The Russian 2S38 Derivatsiya-PVO 57-mm SPAAG, but it's not available in the game, although I guess that it's quite popular on War Thunder (I don't play that one, either, if it helps). I mean, don't get me wrong - I'd gladly make it, myself, but, sadly, I wouldn't even know as to where to begin & never realized that you essentially need to be a programmer in order to get the most out of a game like this. Sigh.

Essentially, I am an idiot.

Well, you definitely don't have to be a professional programmer to create a DCS asset. Sure, it will definitely makes things easier if you have that background, but it's not a requirement. It's actually the diversity that I love about making these assets for DCS.

I spend a lot of time researching the asset, its characteristics, weapons, systems etc and formulate a plan of how to emulate these capabilities within the DCS framework. Then it's the 3D model with its customization to fit the desired outcome, all the rigging and animations. I then make the textures, which is good fun in itself, and very different from the other work. Then it's time for the code, to implement the research into actual performance.

I tend to make my own weapons, and ammunition so that I can tune its performance in detail. I also customize the sound configuration to make the asset feel less generic. Finally it's all about packaging and creating necessary documentation. I am by no means an expert in any of these areas, but I'm dedicated and willing to spend time learning them all. That's what I enjoy.

TL;DR: You need time and dedication - the rest will come.

Yeah, that definitely makes sense. I mean, I do enjoy reading about these things & it's not too difficult to find all of the specifications & capabilities of a particular system, it's just that I still have absolutely no idea as to how to transfer all of that information into something like your creations. I did look into lua, last night, but I'm still hopelessly lost, so I'm simply completely in over my head, here, smh. I did manage, by some miracle, to somehow obtain a response from the guys at Eagle Dynamics about the weapon in question, though ⬇️. Should I frame this/put it on the fridge, lol?
