nothing u can do ED in their infinite wisdom forces us to use a system with a single point of failure ..... and when it fails we cannot load the software we rent from them

try again later maybe master server will be working ... maybe not

No more pre-orders

First time I go to load DCS today I get an authorization failure code 400, I have done a repair and it has happened twice. Closing DCS and restarting seems to fix it although I get my wall paper reset. Everything else seems OK, but may not have found what else went wrong. What could be causing this? never had an issue like this before. Thanks for any help.

I had that earlier, but everything is fine again now - for me, anyway

Yeah, well it happened to me twice today a few hours apart. Both times after PC boot. Did a slow repair in between too.

Just now I did disk cleanup, SFC scannow and removed some mods. Rebooted and it authorized properly, now I am not sure. Did too many things in one go. I would like to know what the 400 error is.

Yeah. I just had the 400 jobby too. Glad to see I wasn’t alone.

Turned it off and came here to rant about it always being DCS that gives me any trouble. Nothing I have installed is as unstable as DCS. No exaggeration, nothing.

Will check later on restart, thanks.

How it manages to do it beats me.

i ran it last night fine. I haven’t updated anything, installed anything, the computer hasn’t even been on. Clever bugger eh?

looks like an authorization server network overload, maybe a flood denial of service cyber attack?

I had the same issue:

after a retry it worked, I then enabled off-line mode so that I can at least do single player until ED solves the issue.

Get this error too. But every second or third DCS start works. (tested some VR settings) Out of 8 starts three were successful.

So maybe those who say a restart works might just have been lucky… till the next DCS start.

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

I got it to load but the background screen I use has reverted to default settings.

A restart gave me the failure again. I don't want to go through installing option settings and who knows what else repeatedly.

Topic really does need unmarking as solved as Sile points out.

Probably you have a Module's wallpaper enabled, so if you can't get authorization to use that Module, your wallpaper returns to the default.  I employ a USER wallpaper, so I didn't experience this issue.

This seems to be a DCS authorization server issue, so a re-install, or dcs repair on your part will not solve this. Just exit DCS and try again until it gets the authorization.

Agree ... hope @BIGNEWY or @NineLine can forward this to the networking techs at ED.

Hi all,

we have made the team aware, so far our auth server seems ok. We have had some routing issues outside of our control recently and I suspect that it is related.

If I get any more news I will let you all know.

thank you
