Same here. I have a RTX 4090 FE with latest NVIDIA drivers 545.84 and the DLSS/DLAA options are all grayed out both when running 2D on monitor and in VR

Are you perhaps using the Single Thread version of DCS?

Nobody thought to mention these are work only in the MT version?... At least in VR only in MT I see them available.

From the above link:
NEW: Added support for Nvidia DLSS. Using upscaling, Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) can dramatically improve game performance if you are Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) limited. Multi-Threading must be enabled to enable DLSS. Please note that if your CPU is limited, DLSS will have little to no performance effect. Owners of Nvidia 20-, 30-, and 40-series graphics card will most benefit from this. With DLSS selected as the Upscaling option, you can further refine quality versus performance with Quality, Balance, Performance, and Ultra Performance presets. WIP

Ah well, i'm one of those guys then that "never" reads the news there. I just read it here on the forums.

They advertised it in the video and there was no mention in the video either.
Also instead of graying the options out (that makes it look like it's not supported by your card) they could have added a note saying "* requires running MT version"

Small stuff that makes the UX better

Steam version here, does NOT work on either MT or ST versions.

Anti Aliasing and Upscaling are all greyed out.

Do a search.  I don't use Steam so I can't really give you the details, but apparently you need to launch MT differently than before.  The "Play MT" or something like that is still leaving you in ST.  If it doesn't say MT Preview and the build number in the bottom right of the splash screen you're still in ST.

I use steam version. I can confirm MT works but very blurry in VR.

Single Thread version of DCS

Before this update I had 2 shortcuts - for ST and MT dcs. And in MT I saw small differenses in compare with ST like absolutely black fan blades in Mi24 and so on...

Now I able to use all new features whatever shortcut I run, including black fan blades.

Does it mean that in 2.9 start of ST (or MT) version han been changed?

Posted

^ If the shortcut you used for ST launches the game by dcs_updater rather than dcs.exe directly, then it launches it in MT mode now in 2.9. As always, check bottom right corner of the menu screen to confirm.

If you want to run ST, you need to launch directly by dcs.exe in Bin folder.

With DLSS ? Of course it´s blurry, that lies in the nature of DLSS.
There is good reason why the picture in VR is usually rendered in higher resolutions than the headset is able to display. DLSS does the exact opposite, it lowers the render resolution for more performance and compensates the missing pixels with AI/algorithms.

Using the MT version it's not possible to select DLSS - it remains greyed out. FSR and NIS are selectable but seem to have no effect.

System is i9-12900k 3.2Ghz, 64k RAM, RTX3080ti, Reverb G2. CPU 26%, GPU 68%, FPS 14. Definitely using MT stand alone. OpenXR.

Note that even in MT 2.8 my FPS was half the rate I got in Single Thread - 25 vs 50. But now in MT it's dire and my ST version now will not open into WMR VR.

Thanks! I stand corrected!

I have found my best so far settings by playing MT with DLAA and SSS instead of ST with MSAA 2x or MT with TAA and DLSS which give bad visual in VR.

Myself others are still struggling having DLAA and DLSS grayed out, non-steam, and in the MT version of the software.
RTX 4090 / Intel 13900k with yesterday's NVIDIA driver update installed.

I've run the standard version, then logged out and run the MT version.

Run the MT version via the DCS_Updater executable.
I'm at a loss for now. If any other tips pop up elsewhere, please share them here.

Please attach a full dcs.log. The one you attach does not show the GPU detection part.

To get a full dcs.log, start DCS, wait the main menu to appear, then exit.
