One question, this mod changes all presets, meaning you can enjoy it on any mission that hasn't taken this mod into account, or do you need to load one of the new presets?

you need to load one of the new presets … and if you lent the mission to someone else, he wont see the same weather you do unless he also loads the Mod.

The mod does not change the orginal presets, it just adds new ones. If you have an old mission that uses one of the orginal presets you can still play it un-changed with the same weather. Only the cirrus clouds will look different.

Agreed very atmospheric - pun intended.

Awesome work - thanks for creating 👏

Hopefully ED can focus on the maps, while you do the clouds for them? 👍

Really stoked with the double rainbow effect - although probably still not as much as this guy!

Youtube: Double Rainbow Appreciation Guy!

Honestly ED should add his mod into the base game, his work with the weather effects is top notch. I can look at the real world weather for a particular area and just about create those conditions for my missions...

It would be great to have "showcase" type missions to directly test these presets.

Load your favorit mission in the ME, apply the first preset and start flying. When you've seen enough go back to the ME and select the next. Rinse and repeat.
You don't even need to create a new mission from scratch. Just take any of the IA missions e.g.

I just installed the mod in the root DCS directory and I don't see any of the 38 presets. I have used the mod in the past and it worked great, just reinstalled after I saw it updated for latest version. I've double checked everything, any ideas? I am using the latest beta and so put it in the DCS World OpenBeta folder, is that the correct location?

Hey, there is no „open beta“ anymore. Only one unified version of DCS. However, depending on which version you where running beforehand, the folders can still be named „open beta“, since the update kept whatever folder names you where using.

In regards to the mod. There is a folder structure in the zip file (ready for mod managers, highly recommended). Make sure that you keep it when unzipping and copy and “overwrite” in the core game folder.

But you should really consider a mod manager for this!

Hey thanks for the reply, yes, my root folder is still named DCS World OpenBeta and my saved games folder is still named DCS.openbeta and I've always done manual mod installs and have never had an issue, I have over 70 mods currently, this is the only weather mod.

After it not working the first couple of tries I carefully placed each file one at a time in its mirrored folder and I've also tried extracting it as a whole and still nothing. Attached images are just a snapshot. It is a simple install, the bazar folder has an effects and a shader folder, the config folder has an effects folder and the mission editor folder has a modules folder - there are sub folders in those of course - and they overwrite 46 files. Anyone have any ideas?

Doing this stuff manually is a chore I wouldn‘t assign to my worst enemy….😬

How do you keep up with the DCS updates?

Anyway, I only ever used the weather mod in particular with OVGME and it worked right from the get go.

Maybe do a repair and try again. Other than that….🤷‍♂️

Indeed.

Not to mention that it would be fun (not) to find the culprit when things won´t work.

I strongly recommend the use of Ogvme or other mod manager.

Same here.. Been using Mod Managers for over 15 years.

OpenModMan is the latest "Child" to Ovgme and written by the same Developer.

I recently started trying the new SLAM   YouTube Demonstration of SLAM.  I like SLAM because it uses Symbolic Links, is fast and does not Move as much data around when compared to traditional Mod Managers.

Good luck @Ghostrider142

I'm guessing this mod disables the default cloudless/empty/blue skybox? As in, when the option "NOTHING" was selected you'd get a completely empty skybox that would only briefly generate some high-altitude clouds that'd fade in and out throughout the mission. With this mod enabled the skybox is almost always filled with some high-altitude clouds.
