AceDuckling Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 After the latest patch in December, carriers have not been working for me at all: In missions containing any carrier, the carrier is simply removed, and if I create a mission in the editor where I spawn on it, as soon as the mission is fully loaded in I die instantly, even before the briefing shows up. I have repaired the entire client twice now, and the problem still persists. Some advice would be greatly appreciated
Solution razo+r Posted January 30, 2024 Solution Posted January 30, 2024 Remove all of your mods, run a repair again and then try it. Some mod apparently breaks the ships, as multiple users before you had the same issue like you described with mods installed. 2 1
diamond22 Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 I have the same issue. Supercarrier missions are not working, I tried to uninstall the module and to reinstall it, but no joy. Also the repair procedure didn't work at all. Please help us to fix this problem, it is very disappointing.

buceador Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 It's probably the SU30 mod and remember you don't have to have the MODs active in your mission, simply having them in the MOD folder will cause problems. 2

DD_Fenrir Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Not official modules; I’m talking about unofficial aircraft or assets that are made by community members and available for free as modifications to the game. Sometimes an individual mod can cause game functionality to break in specific cases; other times it can be down to a specific combination of two or more of these mods as they rarely get tested together. It could explain why you alone seem to be suffering this bug, which is why we ask.

I deleted both of them (included their directories), executed a repair procedure but unfortunately nothing has changed. The loading stops at about half of the process (at the Sim Post Start stage), then a window says the program doesn't respond. *** Update: it seems that the Supercarrier standard missions are somehow corrupted, instead when I launch a mission with SC saved from Mission Editor, it loads regularly. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the Supercarrier module with no luck. Edited February 2, 2024 by diamond22
buceador Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 (edited) The easiest way to test is to rename your mods folder to something else like MODSx then load the game and the see if everything works ok Edited February 3, 2024 by buceador
rob10 Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 (edited) And is your version of DCS current? There was a bug a number of versions back that caused TCN ranges to be very limited. Doubtful that it's a DCS issue since no one else is reporting it (and I had carrier TCN at 80-100 nm in MP last night) so it's something with your install or machine. Edited February 2, 2024 by rob10

Any reason you're not using MT version? Try to run \bin-mt\dcs.exe . Your page file is only 4GB - can you please set it to 32GB? Similar errors caused by some static heli on the deck (SH-60B in your case) may be a bug that is not resolved yet - any update @Flappie @BIGNEWY ? Your windows OS seems to be out of date also, try a windows update. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? diamond22 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 Thank you both for your suggestions. I will try to increase the pagefile size and to search for Windows updates (It's setted it in automatic mode and it says that everything is updated ). I will do some testing and report here the results very soon.
diamond22 Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 (edited) I resized the pagefile, checked for W11 updates, started the program in MT, tryed to load a different SC mission, but unfortunately the result is always the same.. Could it be a damaged area of the hard disk? I don't know what else to think. Edit: I read the other thread (Sim Poststart stuck: a sudden bug), and I see that other guys faced my same issue, so definitely I'm not the only one, there's some static object that create this error. In fact, if I load a SC mission created by me with the mission editor, everything goes well. dcs.log dcs (2).log Edited February 8, 2024 by diamond22

Nealius Posted February 8, 2024 Posted February 8, 2024 (edited) This seems related to the Sim PostStart bugs posted in the 2.9 crash forums as well, as myself and others have this same behavior only with supercarrier and/or related static tugs and deck personnel. These are all the same/similar issue, perhaps a merge is in order? With all the threads separate I notice different troubleshooting methodologies in each which might make it harder to find the solution.
