The Hind was one of those helicopters that I thought was cool as a kid, but wasn't really sure it would be that cool to fly in DCS, since it didn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of a modern attack helicopter. Boy was I wrong. I'm so glad I purchased that thing.

Now I'll always love flying around in the Soviet Murder Bus.

Agree 100%, I own all the rotor mods and many fixed wing, but nothing gives me the fizz like the Hind, so glad I persevered with it, I like to call it the flying death pig.

It really does make you feel like you're trying to throw a massive helicopter around the skies, and while I've never flown a real Mi-24, or even a real helicopter, it just feels right to my unqualified brain.

Can't wait to take the MiG-29A up soon too. I'll finally be able to have the full fidelity experience while taking on Bluefor and not feel like I'm completely outclassed. There's definitely no way I'm getting any kills against a Hornet while piloting an F-4 or a MiG-21.

Exciting times fsure, even more so with the CWG map and the dynamic campaign edging ever closer.

Yeah, the Dynamic Campaign's going to be a massive addition. It'll be great to just have it create missions for you on the map so you can just go out and fly into a mystery world.

Does anyone knows if is possible to make the pre purchase on steam?

Yes. Bignewy said Steam pre-purchase will come when they have a release date. That appears to be a Steam requirement.

Yeah, I think Steam requires a firm date to be set and then they also sometimes have a slight delay in posting things.

In an appropriate setting (aka with the Hornet limited to AIM-9L/M and AIM-7F/M), yes actually 😉

I hope for two things: Firstly, that we at least get an Early Access Guide that is continually updated like the manuals for the AH-64, F16 and FA.18. And that we don't have to wait years again and still wait, keyword: Mi-24P. Secondly, that GCI is made available for the Mi-24P too. Or would it even make sense to make GCI generally available for the Mig-21, Mi-8 and M2k? I would like to see these two things. Apart from that, I'm completely focused on the Mig-29. I've watched the trailer many times. And apart from that, I'm currently only flying the FC3 Mig-29 in DCS. And I'm trying to get as much information on the web as possible.

You can’t make the GCI datalink work for any other full fidelity module, it requires a specific cockpit panel to set the codes. Once you turn it on and have a connection you have a circle that guides you to intercept trajectory with the enemy and gives you their speed, alt, and hemisphere on the HUD.

Su-27 has the same system and 2-3 other datalinks it can use. It would be possible to make a MiG-21 that used the system, but our module in DCS has the autopilot replacing the Lazur GCI datalink.

He may mean just the GCI - as the name suggests "ground controlled intercept" - as radio voiced commands. If implemented it could work for any aircraft with a radio.

There are instructions on the HUD with letters and symbols to guide the Mig-29 about speed, afterburner, guiding circles, climbing profiles. Is not by radio voice.

You're talking about data link. I'm saying about radio comms. Yes, GCI was also done this way IRL.

Any chance the manual will be posted here some days/weeks in advance of the module release?

Or give Chuck Beta Access so he can start his guide

+1 .. let’s hope ED would do that, but lately I have not been feeling hopeful on the path DCS is taking.

Anyone still got access to a copy of Overscan's guide to Russian radar?

From memory that had a reasonable amount of info on how the GCI could direct the MiG-29 radar and give instructions on intercept speed, course, AB use etc...

Cheers.
