maybe because I own both the Falklands and the Kola maps, but the download size was too big for my disk:

Rg7QWen.jpg

I deleted all of my installed terrains, except for Kola and Caucasus, to no avail ... the installer just kept asking for more free space.

So, I finally opted to delete DCS from my disk, and download a fresh installer ... I have a pretty fast Internet connection so it should turn out ok .. I hope, fingers crossed.

Seems I can't postpone an SSD upgrade anylonger, on my country a 2 TB NVM drive starts at around US$90, but I just purchased a week ago a 2nd hand RTX2080 on US$ 200, so I can't at the moment spend more until at least next month.

Just notice that the patch size above may not include the size of F-4E...
Was a separate 4GB download after the patch for me.

downloaded at 240 kb/s
I stopped downloading and resumed it 2 minutes later and I went from 240kb/s and 22h of downloading to 14mb/8 and 1h12m of downloading and it's been going on for 1 to 2 months.
Who knows why!!!🤔

I'm sure that there are drives of that price here too .. I meant the starting prices, for example this one:

https://www.solotodo.cl/products/158333-hikvision-e3000-2-tb-hs-ssd-e30002048g

$84,000 of my currency is US$ 93.65 at today's rate.

Any way, the basic DCS install (with Caucasus & Marianas) is taking a bit less than one hour, afterwards I will install the Modules that I'm currently using: Kola and the Viggen .. I will install the rest on an "as-needed" basis 🙂  I still cant understand why the updater wanted 400 GB free to update.

Why is this update 50 GB big? Is it because of the changes of SA & Kola maps? Will the update be smaller when you don't own these maps? Can someone maybe confirm this?

(Can check for myself not until in a few days) Also running out of disk space here...

On my case it was more like 400 GB, as shown on my prior post

I assume so, but even if those are the two biggest maps on DCS, I fail to see how the update could ask for 400 GB free.

Okay, this sounds like there's something wrong with download servers or so, these numbers can't be real, the changelog doesn't seem that massive

Auto-boresight option is actually very nice, I'm all up for such QoL additions when authenticity and 'realism' meets actual limitations of our devices.
@BIGNEWY can we expect the similar for Apache's HDU? It is pretty much impossible to properly align it in VR: lean forward, hold your headset and set crosshair slightly left off the center is far from ideal.

I tried to update several times, and I'm not new to updating DCS, being a user since 2013. I came here to the Forums, but as no one else seemed to be having this issue, I decided that it was a bug on my particular DCS install, so I opted to delete my whole DCS program folder and install DCS from scratch rather than updating. Of course, I did save my Saved Games folder 🙂

Looks like ED updated the DLSS dll version to 3.7.0.0 one on this update, nice, one less thing to change after an update!

Hm okay. Very weird. I'm on steam, hopefully it will work. Even the 50 GB seem way to big for what's listed in the changelog, if you subtract the SA & Kola improvements.

50 GB is nothing for DCS. There are several liveries listed in the changelog, and maps…..so….

btw. for me it is 130 GB (without the Phantom which is a separate download)

I think the updater is working poorly because since
25 mins my dl displays 0.0 kb/s and the download continues until now where it has just finished.
However, I supposedly downloaded 55 GB for this update.
Really worth seeing.
Have a good flight everyone:pilotfly:

Do you have Kola & South America map? These are the only maps I don't have. So hopefully it turns out less than 130 GB for me, as this would be exactly my left free space 😭

Liveries are only for the Gazelle. Maybe that Massun92-Asset-pack takes quite a load.

Thanks ED for today‘s update patch. Just downloading it now…

Great additions for AH-64D. And finally the high altitude start up bug seems fixed now according to the patch notes list.

Gazelle gets new multicrew system. Thank you Polychop!

Massun92 assetts added to DCS is a great deal! Would be cool if possible for other packs as well.

Even South atlantic map got some care!

And finally it‘s great to see ORBX seems constantly working and adding things to Kola map.

Only thing. I hoped to see the update for Sinai map today as well. But no problem, maybe with the next patch.
