My Steam update said 40 something GB before I did the reinstall.

2 flights and both times DCS crashed pressing F10 Map.... Sigh

F10 map was stuttering before this patch but now its worse it just crashes the whole sim...

Have you seen the change log? There are a lot of map improvements. Also, you lose a lot of performance when your drive is near full. Time for a new larger drive.

What do you expect when the maps are currently 120Gb with only one season? Not to mention modules .  Back in May I bought a 4TB NVMe drive just for DCS and I know it will last maybe next 2-3 years.

Maybe it's done on what you got installed, if someone has every product guessing their patch will be a lot bigger than someone that owns say 3 aircraft and a map so could explain why everyone's is different.

Thats what I'm thinking too. I don't have the Kola map, yet. I could be wrong, but I think Steam only downloads the updated files too.

Yeah, I just started DCS and it is displaying V2.9.8.107 MT so has updated to the latest patch.

00002.354 === Log closed.

Please help.  What is elevation?

Try right-click the .exe and Run as Administrator.

I assume you mean 9.8 MegaBytes per second and not 9.8 millibits? And you think that is slow? In any case your provider might throttle your connection on certain downloads. Also, way back in the days, even before ISDN, any ISP would sell more capacity than they actually could offer.

Does this apply to the Harrier?  I did see the option in the payload editor on the Harrier to change the code, but the Kneeboard setting doesn't update.  Does the payload screen or the kneeboard take precedence?   I will try to test it and report back but I thought I would ask.

 

EDIT: Did a quick test and it appears that for the Harrier, the Kneeboard is still the way to set the code for APKWS even though it CAN be set in the payload screen.

If a package is only 10GB or 20GB then why do I need to have an extra 195GB just to allow me to download the 20gb? At least help me understand.

No prob. Happy to help and glad it worked. You don't have to do it every time. Right-click on the .exe and go down to Properties, then select "Compatibility" at the top. Check the checkbox to "Run this program as an administrator".

 

Not sure, but maybe something to do with OpenBeta folder? 

That's honestly why I just decided to do a fresh install with this release. I was using OB since I started playing, but now that OB and ST are dead, figured I may as well just start fresh.
