it was added to the change log in error, it is not ready for public builds but hopefully soon.

I can finally fly Afghanistan and Kola map. I still need ground shadows and flat shadows blur off, but overall good job.

Originally I thought that there might be option to specify another directory location directly without making links.

After the new update (2.9.8.1107), there are no more noticeable stutters and the frame is also improved. Tested with F-14, CVN-71, Marianas and F-4 MiG killers campaign. Thanks for continuous improvement.

Yes, in that respect it's a great job by ED! Gaza for me now, stable 72 FPS in VR .

last 2 updates messed up spotting for high-res VR headsets (35-39ppd), the spots became pretty much invisible, but the low res players loved the change because the spots became smaller. It's like pulling the blanket from one side of the bed to the other. Now the high res players will be enjoying the spotting again ( ) and this will continue until ED implements the hw dependent spot sizing (as per the update brief).

This is a direct before and after using a Stress test mission.  The units were just added untill the system became a juddering mess. With only 12 planes flying this was already the case...now its significantly better.

 

The update has really made a HUGE improvement to my system, 8700K ,64 GB Ram, 2080Ti

@cfrag: I don´t have these problems. Played some of these missions (not all of them) and didn´t had crashes when pressing F10

Maybe not. i played the new version several times, today I want to start the game and I get this....

 

I tried to run as administrator, same result.

Any suggestions. Not able to get to the launcher, is there a way to maybe bypass the launcher, if this would be the problem?

Hi, Thank you for the replies but not sure what the last two have to do with my download speed ?

However in reply to Slug head , Full glass fibre is not an option unless it's Virgin Media and I have issues with their customer service record. The problem is that if I am unable to achieve the proven speed at my house entry @ 70 mbps and I get 9.8 max when downloading anything from DCS ( Which takes hours for an update incidentally) the problem must lie between my house and the DCS servers and the house in UK. Thats why I am interested to know if any other UK users of DCS have a similar problem. Changing to glass ( 1 GIG here on offer with Virgin) would be great but even if I did how does it solve my problem. I Have discussed this at length with my I.S.P. and they cannot do more as they are providing the max service available here in my area. The speed test was on my Mac which as the PC is hard wired without any wi fi stuff involved .
