Hi JupiterJoe, here you have confirmation that the Phantom Navy version from HB is in the progress.

Huh?  That's the Sparrowhawk HUD for the F-14B.

I think Heatblur said a naval Phantom add-on would happen but wanted to get other things sorted first.

Have a looksy at Adrian's link above. The Navy version is far off and not an add on but a completely seperate DLC.

Yeah, by 'add on' I meant an additional DLC rather than just a variant within the existing module like the F14 or Mirage F1 (which they were pretty clear about even before the E was released).  Whether its a 'full price for everyone' thing or some discount is offered for E owners I guess is a commercial decision that would be taken much nearer the time it sees light of day.

Right, misunderstood!

It is not that such scenario is unrealistic. It is perfectly realistic.

Per modules I miss Su-25T or Su-17M4. I had hoped for some good full fidelity ground killer 😛

I'd love just a FF vanilla SU-25.

Disappointment is an emotion sparked. Mission accomplished!

Hardly. I'm looking for a feel good emotion. Like you get with music. I got that when Nick was in the video. It's not the content but how it's presented that's important for me. I'll look at the content when it's released and decide then if I want to buy it. I don't need to see it a year ahead of time. I'm not going anywhere. Look at my join date.

Note to developers:  If a Navy variant exists, build that first.  Sure, it's a little more work initially, but you end up with the best of both worlds.  More versatility = more fun.  Landing on a carrier is the most challenging thing in aviation.

I respect your opinion but I've never cared for the Nick commentary.  The 2021 trailer is my absolute favourite (amazing f'n music) but I always skip over the commentary when I re-watch it.  Just personal taste.

The F-15C was already in the wishlist, they kinda said it was not in the pipeline. But since RAZBAM decided to slam the F-15E and proudly say to the public, their customers who bought it, that they no longer are going to update...and now suddenly seeing the F-15C kinda gives me that sinking feeling that F-15E support is pretty much over.

The F-15C is not actually going to fill the gap left by the F-15E which could do both air to air and air to ground. F-15C we are going to get is the seal clubb...I mean redforce smacking model.

Not to mention, the only cold war class Red force they just had to stop considered we already have a very low redforce modules and campaigns. It is all blue force campaigns, never redforce.

Dynamic Campaign:

Will it run on multiplayer servers so we can jump in and out?

Can there be a general(s) who will define tactics and distribute resources, units?

Will we be able to talk to ground units who will dynamically assign targets (JTAC)?

can helicopters and C130 ferry troops? Drop some units to take a city e.g?

When can I download the dynamic campaign?

Would he great to get some more info about it!

Also, since the dynamic campaign footage in the video only showed the Caucasus map: will it work with every map in DCS?

I watched the video again and it looks a lot better when I have a more positive attitude. I'll watch it a couple of more times to let it all sink in. However, it would have even better with Nick. 🙂

I've had a bit of time to digest the video now, and my feelings are a little mixed.  The DCE is not going to be easy to showcase in a short video, but it looks like there has been a lot of work on the ground unit AI which is very welcome.

F-15C is good news, I hope there will be more FC3 aircraft brought into full-fidelity, especially with the central Germany map.  A-10A, I'm looking at you!

F-35 was completely unexpected, as the difficulties of accurately modelling in service (and very high tech) aircraft are well known.  As one poster already mentioned, there are probably as many lines of code in the F-35 as there are in DCS.  Many of the sensor capabilities are classified, so best guesses will have to do, which honestly I'm ok with.

I don't get the whole imbalance argument though.  I know there are plenty of PvP players who keep score and like things 'fair', but in real combat if you find yourself in a fair fight, then someone screwed up the planning.  Air combat is not some chivalrous fight like knights of old, it is lurking in the dark waiting to shoot your enemy in the back of the head without them even knowing you were there.  Fair should never come into it.

I'm a bit disappointed not to have seen more of some of the other 3rd party modules in development, I won't bother listing them as we all know what is coming in the pipeline, but it would have been nice to see some footage of them

Central Germany looks great though, and at least it seems like they are making it temporally relevant, which is a nice change.

Except only a few American squids fly the C. While there are already hundreds of As already in use by NATO allies.

Including 1 nation in the Kola map(soon 2)

One nation on the upcoming Top End Australia, 1 nation on Sinai/Syria

2 nation on the potential Central Europe map.

Four of the maps you mention have oceans for carriers to operate in.  The Naval variants can do both land and sea ops.  Why restrict yourself and everyone else?  Plus I wasn't just talking about the F-35C.  I was talking about any aircraft that had a naval variant.  HB's Phantom is an example.  If you're going to all the effort to model an aircraft, why not model the most interesting variant, that gives you the most scope for exciting and interesting missions/campaigns in DCS?  If they don't have access to the technical documentation (likely in the case of a modern active asset like the F-35C) to make that happen then fair enough.

Because I said countries that used the A. Not Squdis going on a cruise.

No other countries use the C.

I would have no interest in the C. I want the A as that fits Norway on Kola(and any place they deploy like Poland now)

And I'm sure that's true for people from Poland, Germany, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Canada, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Romania, Greece, Singapore Czech Republic and Switzerland who all use A or will use A in the future.

Fair enough.  With its vast amount of automation and awesome tech, I don't picture the A being that interesting or challenging an experience.  A simulation of a simulation.

I hoped that this new approach by ED, will open the door for much more Redfor, but they said no..just before the Video, Wags said in the Discord that, they will and can only do russian planes, with openly available Manuals....So I wonder...Why not do the same guesswork for red planes, the data is 10x more available than for a F35...

Don't think the C is any more challenging. Given that even the B mostly takes off and lands automatically. With just a few button presses.

Come on Dude!  I'm saying you can land vertically and conventionally.  What's not to love?
