This mission has some fog and a single GM slot. To repro, load mission, zoom in on the bullseye positions a bit, and use ctrl+F11 to go into free camera. Move the camera altitude to 20,000ft or so and look west (out to sea). You will see the flickering at the edge of the fog render distance. dcs.logFogTest1.miz

The Tigers I fly do not have this addition and therefore this upgrade would break the many liveries I have for the original F-5E. Must skip. Too bad!
dutchili Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Wouw, that fog looks amazing!! Good to know that fog thickness is based on MSL, not just 'thickness from ground level'. In NTTR i had to raise the fog over 1000 ft compaired to field elevation on Nellis to actually see it. Althoug i could see some fog over the lake to the south-west. When set to 2700ft...wouw, just amazing. Bad weather flying is more interesting than ever. 2

This patch doesn't have any, so it's much smaller. Nothing unusual here. 4 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

The wobbling and flickering of the fog is sometimes really bad in 2D with MSAA FOG.mp4 2. My FPS drop down by a lot when fog comes into view. When I look at the clear, bright, blue sky, FPS are at 80 and it drops down to 35 or even less when I look at the fog. It does look good though! Edited December 4, 2024 by TheFreshPrince
