I don't have to do it because I skipped the update but can't DCS updates be rolled back by the user?

The last patch improves mutch more, of course it concerns other modules and enige and is worth installing of course. Unless someone currently flies only F-5E, then it is really better not to install it.

I'm asking about the ability to roll back, without getting into the should/shouldn't.

This guide doesn't specify how to do it, despite what the poster on reddit claimed

But this one does!

Today I had the opportunity to test the F-5E Remastered after the patch and I am also having performance issues.

It seems to be intermittent (at least for me), but is sometimes resolved by restarting DCS. Last time I played I had to restart DCS once to get the "normal" framerate for the F-5... the time before that took 5 restarts. Not a fan of rolling the dice every time I start DCS to try to get it playable.

The problem is always there, but sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn't. If now after restarting you were ok, Im sure that you still have this "virus", only the question is when it will rear his head again 😉.

So any clue as to why F-5E leg and remaster so slow in 2.9.11.XXXX?

My speculation is that its not using RTX GPU. 3D rendering is all in software or in baseline Windows 3D GPU emulation.

I am looking at GPU memory utilization and GPU utilization. in Task Manager

GPU memory usage is little below 8 GB.

Shared GPU memory usage is 0

GPU 3D utilization is bottomed out. Little better then when running YouTube in Chrome.

Ok, by working gradually building up a mission, the main issue is ai triggers and zones, when you introduce them it causes a huge slowdown, as soon as you delete the triggers it speeds up again; that's for the F1; haven't tried the f5e yet. Suggestion was from someone on another thread, great idea to try.

Doesn't help us if we want to use it in missions but at least we know where the problem is

The F-5E performance issue is reported internally.

About the Mirage F1, please read this thread:

There must be a big bug for the F-5E remastered module because I have all of its versions (flaming cliff) and (individual module). Except that from an FPS point of view the FC version gives 70 FPS and the remastered version gives 8 FPS. I don't see any logical reason for such a difference with the same settings! hence BUG

Yeah, seems to be a common issue with the F5E remastered. There was another thread that was closed. Weird thing it's like Russian roulette. It may work ok, or it can be a slide show at 10-12 FPS.  Too bad I seen this message after uninstalling DCS. I thought it was a bad install even after a repair.  Would be nice to see messages posted about issues like this in the game launcher so we do not spend hours troubleshooting.

EDIT: Just finished the fresh install with only the base Sim and the F-5E installed. Loaded Caucasus Takeoff2 again as my normal test spot for this issue. I'm back from 10-45 FPS to 90-105 FPS on the runway. Same graphic settings. I did also delete the previous cache and older dxo files before loading the game for the first time.  Hopefully it won't get corrupted again.

To "prevent" you from ever re-installing in the future. A slow repair is exactly like re-installing the game. It's the Updater that installs, updates and repairs DCS.

Cheers!

Hi fellas, my rig is as follows

5800x3D 64gb ddr 4 3200 Asus TUF 550b Plus WiFi II

RX6900xt with DCS on its own 2TB Nvme

I was fine till thanksgiving. I locked my frames at 65fps and cranked everything to max with FSR. Played that way fine forever. I can get over 85fps max settings but way wear out my rig as human cant tell past 60fps. Anyway everything went south after turkey day and i dont know why. Kept messing around for a week or two then the updater stopped. bought the F5 rework and noticed it wasnt there. Did force update. Things still wanky, so right before christmas i did a whole fresh reinstall. played MP mostly and it seemed okish. Stopped playing for a few weeks as x56 stick took a dump. Got Ursa minor. Got installed and just tried to play ,79 Resolve campaign. Looked like garbage and glitchy. Pulled up the overlay AMD software and its getting 37fps max on mission 2. in the air it 44fps. CPU is at 31% utilization and GPU is 42% utilization. I have no clue what is going on! Can anyone give me insight and direction?
