Re new F-14 variant, I wonder how early 135GR can carry guided weapons and Lantrin, that was all included in 90's upgrade, maybe bug or no payload update yet? This make little sense currently, even for early US Tomcat I expected some older weapons, especially aim-9's, that are older than Lima.

Yes, me too: I had hoped for AIM-9D and -G to be included in Early -A.

Please give us VR users an option to disable the visor. I find it INSANELY irritating for no reason whatsoever. I'd be happy if it'd just be a tint in VR too. The nose gap is like RIGHT on the edge of my FOV and it's jus always... there. Since VR lacks actual depth of field it's kind of a "sharp" object always in your peripheral vision. No clue who though this is a good feature to enable for everybody. I hope there will be an option in the "VR" or "F18" section for example.

for me the visors in Hornet and Viper are really great.

I think it depends a lot on the VR headset you are using and the FOV (so also headshape etc.). With less FOV for example I would not even see the upper part of the visor if I had maybe 2°  of vertial FOV less but if I'm looking up I can sometimes see the top part where the visor "connects" to the helmet I guess, like 2 dark spikes.

Also I don't want to have a "darker" picture 24/7 for no reason whatsoever. I get that some people like it but again, not everybody. Since the JHMCS in the F18 is connected to the visor "like irl" it's basically required to have down all the time if you fly modern scenarios.

Because the RL helmet has it enabled for everybody, or you wouldn’t be able to see the symbology.
And in DCS it fixed long-standing issues with lighting and colour-correction.

If you’re having issues it’s best to make a separate bug report which includes the type of VR headset you use.

For me on my Varjo Aero it works brilliantly!

I completely support this request.

For many VR users, the new visor borders cause discomfort and nausea after only a short period of use.

This is not about realism or personal preference - it’s a health and accessibility issue, and should therefore be treated as a priority -.

Please make it optional, allowing tinted vision without the borders, similar to the “Show Pilot Body” option.

Players shouldn’t have to modify game files to protect their well-being - and personally, I can’t use the F-18 or F-16 in VR at all now. It makes me dizzy and even makes me want to vomit after a few minutes -.

Only thing I can agree with is the sharpness of the close edge - they should think about blurring it a bit - just like we can't focus on our nose. Everything else is just as IRL - get used to it.

And while we're at the nose - we should see it too

So a blur is the bare minimum in my opinion, keeping it sharp is actually a bug and neither adds to the realism nor helps anybody else. Personally I don't see a reason NOT to add the option to either disable the 3d model or even the tint. It's not like a competitive video game where everybudy must play the exact same settings. Some people like using the pilot body for example, others don't. Just give us the option, nobody loses in that case.

That'd be unrealistic and doesn't fit in DCS.

I like the new visor very much (in VR, Vive Pro), and also the "wearing a helmet" feeling. I agree that he visor's edges could be more blurry.

I do find it reasonable though to make it optional. The idea to link it to the pilot model is IMO good: if you have pilot model enabled, you get the peripheral helmet, if you have it disabled, you get just the visor tint if you "pull the visor down".

Shouldn't we see a blurry oxygen mask?

Problem with "realism" in this regard is, that a fixed device (edge, mask whatever) direktly in front of your face will be filtered by your brain (as is your nose e.g.) and not consciously perceived.
Whereas put on screen, it can't be ignored. Blurry or not......

In favour to bind it to the pilots model, but strongly against forcing it!

Then why can I toggle the pilot body? Realism isn't everything and not everybody wants the same experience. DCS is still a game and again IT HURTS NOBODY to add this options, it's a purely cosmetic change. Your experience doesn't get any less realistic if another player does not see the visor in "3d" if in VR. I can just play flatscreen and have the same less realistic experience. They might as well draw the blurry nosegap in flatscreen by that argumentation.

Anyway enough discussion, I believe @BIGNEWY saw this and they will hopefully discuss it internally. I hope we get an option and communicating that to the devs is all I can do.

If you enjoy overexposure and washed-out colours, all the more power to you 🙂 I don't.
But you're right in that an ability to turn it off (using special options) is fine for those who'd want that. As long as it's enabled by default.

Anyone else having 'F' view problems since this update? This is so strange & has only occurred since the update.

F1, F2, F3, F4 & F5 keys all work as per normal on player aircraft but F2 no longer cycles other aircraft. F7 no longer jumps to ground units & F9 no longer cycles shipping. Ctrl + F11 seems to work as normal (as free camera).

I've tried it on different keyboards, no mods active, different aircraft, different maps & have even checked the keybindings (which are fine btw, F7 registers as F7 ground units view when pressed, and so on).

Never experienced this problem ever before and all was fine before this patch.

What on earth is going on? I've put a post in the views section of bugs but it's not getting much coverage there.

I answered you in the other thread. What mission is this?
Since you're the only one reporting this, you can try to shutdown DCS, rename your DCS Saved Games folder, perform a full repair, and check if that fixes it.
And remember, those views can be limited in the mission itself..
Cheers!
