Oh I have another suggestion.. This is very minuscule as far as importance but would be pretty sweet to see in a flight sim.

I would like to see AI aircraft marshalling! It would take a little animation work with the human AI, but I think it would be awesome.

i think they mentioned 3d skeleton animation is now coded into the new game engine .

we could see animated ground crews and wildlife in later mods and addons.

still needs to be confirmed , or if its a later expansion?

Good call, never thought of DCS F.3, that would make an interesting one. But again, two seats.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

I was thinking more GR4 with a nicely moddled mach loop to practice those low level runs :joystick:

I am sure that if this monography imlemented like A-10 and in more avionics options-check lists, the sales will be extremely high!!! trust me !!!

as long as it is an american, Air Force fighter (not navy), ill be very happy. I would be overwhelmed if they announced an F-15E or F-16C. That would be so sick!

considering the thousands that play Falcon 4 AF or the other modded versions. ED would blow that Sim out of the genre, if a Dynamic SP and MP can be done.

A lot of the guys that stick to F4AF because of the dynamic Campaigns.

Yes, it would be nice, but some issues prevents this:

-dynamic campaign requires great amount of programming, so new mission editor + mission generator must be written; current is too heavely dependant on human factor (ie, all mission are made manualy, but for dynamic campaign this must be generated instantly)..

Few weeks ago, there was a question about this, and someone from ED team said that they'll implement some kind of replacement to dynamic campaign (if you can call it that way)

-Time. To implement dynamic campaign, it requires lots of time, so i don't think that everyone would appreciate delaying release date for indefinetly.

Cheers.. I hope that this will help you..

I would love to see a dcs based on the nighstalkers. A 160th SOAR game would be great. Not as eciting as fighters but I would love it. Animated fast roping of troops going in and mh-60L DAP on gun runs. I think it would be exciting.

I hope for a double sitter and opening of the game to custom aircraft (community/3rd party build).

The game is evolving far to slow this way and I don't think ED is gonna lose money on this.

So... Apache or F15D or Su30/34.

We really need a multi crew plane.

Why do we need multi-crew aircraft? What's the big deal? All it does is introduce problems. Are you going to "freeze" the world as you jump between crew stations?

Why stop with a only WSO...how about the MC-130H Talon II or the AC-130U?

Pilot, Co-Pilot, Engineer, Navigator, and an EWO shouldn't be too much. ;) But seriously, an AFSOC asset would be a nice direction to go:

Flying low level penetrations on NVG's in the MC-130H TALON II to airland or airdrop special forces.

Flying endless left-hand orbits sounds as boring as a NASCAR race, unless you're doing it in an AC-130...

The CV-22 certainly has in interesting mission that combines the roles of the PAVE LOW III/IV, PAVE HAWK, TALON I, and SHADOW.

The HH-60G's CSAR mission would dovetail nicely with the A-10C in the FAC/SANDY role.

Even the U-28A could be interesting, shoehorning into and out of unprepared fields on NVG's in support of SF.

Sure, not all of them employ weapons, but there are plenty of other fun things to do besides tank plinking and CAP'ing, especially in a clandestine, night, low level environment.

Fate of the Frogfoot

Hello,

I thought it was time to inquire about this:

I've heard that there aren't sufficient references to model a Su-25 to DCS standards. However, it might be possible to retain the Su-25 as a playable OPFOR for the A-10. This would be a payable addon or an easter egg along the lines of FC2.

Is this possible? Will we be able to fly lower fidelity Frogfoots well into the DCS series? Or will the last flyable Frogfoots be in FC2?

Posted

Frogoots never die!

Hope someday we will see Su-25TM or Su-25SM :)

I've never heard anything what you said about keeping Su25 in A-10... if A-10 is compatible with LO, there will be Frogfoot as well ;]

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I believe ED has stated that they do not intend to port the aircraft in LO/FC to DCS. It may be they'll release a DCS Frogfoot module in the future, though that might depend upon whether or not they'll get a simulation contract with the military and receive proper documentation. At any rate, I'm getting rather tired of the frogfoot. Old fashion seventies technology combined with same old CAS missions we'll be doing with the A-10 just doesn't really seem worth the effort.

Posted

AFAIK, ED's plans are to not model any aircraft with less fidelity than the Ka-50 under the label of DCS. The only way i see the Frogfoot continuing in the DCS franchise is via a compatibility patch for FC2-DCSW, about which Wags said that they would decide after the release.

There is still the possibility of a DCS version of an early Frogfoot, however unlikely it may seem atm.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Thanks,

I guess my concern is that FC2 compatibility will eventually be dropped when the air-to-air/sensor modelling is overhauled. I see no reason why the Su-25/Su-25T, with their optical sensors and reliance on the human eye should be abandoned, though.

I'd dearly like to see an FC3 which just retained the Su-25/Su-25T as flyables.

The Su-25 is one of the last aircraft to rely on the Mk.1 eyeball and analogue dials. It also provides a unique weapons set and an ability to fly strike missions for CIS countries (effectively doubling the target diversity in the campaign). Until another Russian strike aircraft makes it into DCS we really benefit from having this plane.

My votes are for the Su-27S with an SM option, the Su-35(ovt), or an Su-33 with an Su-35(terminator) option, maybe you could DCS an option for all these variants on one install. That'd be pretty trick.

Also I think a MiG-25PD/RB/BM version of DCS would be a best seller. I'd snap that up even quicker than a Flanker one, the Foxbat is a legend and I can't think of anyone into simming who would say no to "flying" one.

Information about this model is a lot more complete these days than it ever used to be, from combat encounter and pilot reports to official data.

This would mostly be for a bit of fun though, mostly regular simmers like the multiroles I think.

For that reason I think the Viper or Hornet are the surest bet, but myself I'd like the Su-27SM or Su-35. MiG-29S is too handicapped by range but is probably the best all rounder for player-selectables in LOMAC.

Basically I respect American planes but much prefer to fly Russian ones.
