The Flying Goose
I haven't had a chance to say so yet but thanks to ED for all this info on the Hog! I was getting a little anxious there for a while for some tidbits and knowledge like GA's Project 10 or Producer's note 3 (RIP PNs, your legacy has been passed on to training mission videos) but this is even better. It's kinda funny though because I still have the bookmark for the Russian DCS A-10C page that came out like a year and a half ago or sometime like that. And now after a year or so of nothing there we finally get DCS.com A-10C 2.0! Just checked and the link no longer works (I don't know how long it's been off) but it would have been cool to see how it's changed... In short: To ED,:thumbup::thumbup: Nice work guys! 1 Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz, Sapphire 5870, TM Warthog, 4 GB RAM, Windows

JaNk0
power5, angle of attack http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angle_of_attack It pretty much indicates how hard you are pulling your stick. When you get the warning "Maximum angle of attack", you are pulling so hard (the horizontal stabilizer at high angle = loss of lift) that you are heading into a stall. Hope it made any sense. P.S. I'm no expert in this area Edited September 9, 2010 by JaNk0 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eddie
Ok, more flight jargon talk questions. What does angels 15 or 20 mean? AoA or something? Angels is the brevity term for height of friendly aircraft in thousands feet above MSL. So Angels 20 would mean 20,000ft MSL. There is also Cherubs which is height of friendly aircraft in hundreds of feet, so Cherubs 5 would be 500ft. Airbuster
A quick question about the new and improved AI units: What about the new models of Mi-26 and C-17 that had threads in the 3D Models section of the forum? They look awesome, isn't it possible to be integrated in DCS: A-10? Is this the final list of new aircraft units/improved 3d models? There were also new models for the sea fleet, what about them? Pyroflash
A more accurate description would be the angle between the relative wind (direction your aircraft is moving through the air) and the longitudinal axis of your aircraft (direction your aircraft is pointing at). a +20 degree AoA would mean that the angle of incidence between the relative wind and your aircraft's longitudinal axis is 20 degrees. maximum AoA is the highest angle of attack at which your aircraft is not stalled out. ------------------- What Blaze said regarding angels calls is correct, angels are called in 1000's of feet above sea level. Metrics are called the same way as angels, except they are called in meters above sea level. "Durandal 1-2, Durandal 1-1 bandit bearing 120 for six-zero angels(metrics) 5, cold". This roughly translates into, "Durandal 2, this is flight lead, there is a bandit on a heading of one-two-zero (true). The bandit is at a range of sixty nautical miles and flying at an altitude of five thousand feet. He is heading towards us (hot (heading away would be called cold)). 1 If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Laud
AI improvements look very promising! Has target-priority- and ammunition-logics been reworked too???
