jctrnacty Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) Id like to know if there are real Hog pilots who could share their thoughts about DCS A-10 beta? What do they think about it. Anyone? sobek Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 There's a few crew chiefs, i think, not sure about pilots. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Lt.Seahawk Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Im a crew chief but not on the A-10 though :smilewink: I do know another crew chief on here who works on the A-10 I think he will show up soon! DCS F-14 Tomcat Alley Discord Server: https://discord.gg/ceS859w

Steel Jaw Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I doubt any RL Hog Drivers will show up here let alone fly the sim. Many are Guard pilots with full time jobs (so already busy) and, if you do it RL full time, why would you want to simulate it? 1 "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.

WindWpn Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I have a buddy...! Works for FedEx and a few of his bros at the airline come visit (we live at the beach!) Next time the ex-A-10 guy is here I will see if I can get him to come over to try it! There was an ex-F-14 pilot here a few weeks ago, but I missed him. Additionally, we had a cookout at my place about a month ago, and I had an Apache ex-pilot here and I did not even know it! If I did, I would have definitely had him try the Blackshark! Cali Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I have worked on the A-10 (6 years) and F-16 (11 years). Mower, when I was in Alaska I had a few friends that were A-10 and F-16 pilots. They did try the game out and the F-16 pilot laughed at the 120. He just said that it's wrong, he could really go into any details. The A-10 pilot said it flew pretty good, but was a lil slow. 1 i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

chaos Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 The A-10 pilot said it flew pretty good, but was a lil slow. It must have been LOMAC... It's nice to test take-off performance and reference that with the perf. charts in the TO 1A-A10 manual. Given my poor piloting "sKilLz" I'd say the FM is dead-on. Acceleration speed, which is all I had time to test thoroughly, was never off for more than 4 kts. Both at 35000lbs. and 41500lbs. "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."

Weather you believe me or not I really don't care. The 16 pilot I knew got out of the AF and went to fly at Tuscon. The A-10 guy stayed up there and I don't know where he is at now, but I can find out if he is still in. They both only flew it a few times, since enlisted and officers aren't suppose to hung out together. So go ahead and have a good chuckle, remember this was lock on 1.01-1.02. Me in Alaska, after 9-11 Haven't flown in a hog, but I did give the Viper a try Edited October 22, 2010 by Cali 4 i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

No worries, it's all good :) I know a lot of people say all kinds of stuff (lies) in forums. I wish I would have taken more pics of the hog when I was up there. I also wish I would have been able to take some pics of me and them standing next to their jets. I almost got a F-16 ride with my Viper pilot friend when we were in Guam, but our deploy got cut short cause the Navy came back. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
diveplane Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 your flight buddies wont be laughing now , when they see the new game engine and a10c thats for sure. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
evilnate Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 IMO the reason why a A-10 pilot wouldn't want to play this game is because it's work. I'm sure bank tellers wouldn't want to play a bank teller simulator. ;)
