Ya the tree textures are floating now. What's up with that?

Known issue - You know how it is in software: Fix and errant switch and the trees float as a consequence :P

Jk - issue manifested shortly before release and would again have delayed patch if attended to. Being worked on for 1.1.0.9.

I'm on 64 bit and still no cockpit shadows with every setting to high

If you want tips or anything, my offer stands. PM me and I'll look into helping you out. I feel your pain.

I hope you understand that I cannot comment on the specifics of what was changed and why. It's not necessarily a huge thing but it's not up to me - NDA etc. What I'd say though (as a QA type person) is that you might be looking a bit "too close to home". Common problem in QA is to look for the cause of an issue only at the obvious neighborhood, but the solution might be found proverbially "far away".

Speaking personally, I actually feel that it is a scandal that ED is one of the first companies to make the "switch" to 64-bit. We've had the technology hardware-wise for many many years, and even XP has a version to exploit it. Personally I ran my first 64-bit home system somewhere around 2005 - a whopping 6 years ago! My analysis is basically that there's no real motive for the "big guys" to make the transition, since they're still supporting equally old consoles with rediculously starved memory budgets. Takes a company with no stake in consoles to finally use the hardware we've had in our machines since the first Athlon64's...

The stagnation of the "mainsteam" PC gaming market is evident in the fact that even the really major delivery platform Steam does not support it. Games running 64-bit mode natively need to use their own protection systems, since there's zero support for it in Steam itself. And before DCS:A-10C there was no 64-bit support in TrackIR.

Basically, my opinion is that it's a huge "fo shame" on the entire gaming industry. :(

Super post and big respect from here mate

Wow, on my first mission in 1.1.08 I immediately earned a silver star! :D So yes, I like the patch!

The faster JTAC's are certainly a boon!

Two issues. First, has anybody else noticed the radio menus, specifically re-arm, are about worthless now? Every sub menu has its parent menu referenced, I.E., the Anti-Armor menu list says 1. Anti Armor - 6*AGM-65D... 2. Anti Armor - 2*CBU-97...

It makes it so every line is truncated beyond belief and you really have no way to read it. Not sure if this is system specific, but both my wingman and I noticed it last night. I'm running at 1900x1200. Also seems like the onscreen font and font size for the radio menu has changed... or am I completely crazy?

Second, and I realize this is kind of broad, but my system took a massive FPS hit when I turned on the TGP last night. It went from ~40 to 15 with that sole action. A few units on the TGP, a couple of smoke plumes, but nothing I hadn't seen before. GTX580, i7-930, etc etc. Plenty capable system and I never noticed this big of drop in 0.7.

I dont think so. I noticed that as well, already in the 1.1.0.7 Patch. I also noticed that once I changed my weapon loadout on the ramp to another than defined in the editor, so the DSMS is empty and no weapons are defined anymore. Don´t know if that occurs cause I havent shut down CDU and EGI or this is an random issue. Haven´t tested yet in the new Patch.

Yeah I noticed the font changes... agree on the truncations, let's just move the radios left a few more percentage of screen-width.

I liked the fact that there was less vertical spacing between rows, so my eyes didn't have to move vertically as much as before.

The only thing about this beta I was disappointed at was the new in-flight briefing. It's yet another screen which doesn't show up on my 3840x1792 screen setup. I think the solution should be that these menus (including multiplayer log-in, etc) should dynamically size/position themselves with respect to the main-world view.

As it is with my small 2nd monitor below not filling the width of the main top-monitor (TH2GO), this ends up being impossible to use.

I know I could fix this for myself with some kung-fu file-editing, but should I really have to resort to this??

I read the manual and it says:

If the APU is operating with the APU generator switch in PWR, and APU is shut down and restarted, the APU generator will remain inoperative until the APU generator switch is momentarily positioned to OFF/RESET, then returned to PWR.

What manual your are talking about? The game manual or a real one?

Per -1:

'If the APU is operating with the APU generator switch in PWR, and the APU is shut down and restarted, confirmation should be made that the APU generator is operating. If not, the APU generator switch should be momentarily positioned to OFF/RESET, then back to PWR.'

It looks like OFF/RESET is needed only if APU does not go online automatically after APU restart.

Third time...

Can someone tell me why my cockpit shadows aren't working? It's selected in the options and all settings are maxed out.

Make sure you have a clean install of 1.1.0.8 (or clean 1.1.0.7 patched to 1.1.0.8) then it's also worth to reset settings of graphics card in its control panel or even to reinstall its drivers.

Seeing this as well, a major problem IMHO. Moving the menus to the left did not fix the truncation. Please find a solution. Damnnear impossible to rearm now.

If you're rearming with that, you're probably doing something wrong in the realism department ;)

I work 9-5 for my dose of realism.

When I'm in the sim it's pure shenanigans :D

I kill tanks with HEI (only takes about 500 rounds per)

Jettison fuel tanks onto moving infantry

I "over the shoulder" toss my CBUs onto whatever it is they might hit

And I only take gas from the tanker when he's in a tight turn.

...I'm a realism junky

EAC wont turn on. align time 4.0 .08, NAV on, everything aligned, up and running, startup procedure by the book, like it used to work on 1.1.0.7, but now its not working. also when i start left engine, i get a warning for some reason, that was never there.

buggy patch? :)

As for EAC. With new patch EGI is no longer the default mode. After INS 4.0.0.8 ready click EGI button on NMSP. Threads were made about this. Also included in changelog of 1.1.0.8
