Snoopy Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Before I go into detail let me just say I love Tacview and is an invaluable tool especially for the 476th vTraining Squadron...but.... I found today that Tacview is causing a HUGE FPS loss. I've got my FPS capped at 60. With Tacview enabled in the export lua I only get approx 20 to 30 FPS, remove the export line and I'm getting 60. A fellow member of the 476th (Joyride) has seen the same behavior. Wow, Snoopy found it. With Tacview default line in export.lua, I get ~32 FPS in pit on Vaziani. With that line removed, ~52 FPS. And...tanker F2 view with default Tacview line in, 64 FPS. With that live removed....drum roll please....165 FPS. Yes, one-hundred-sixty-five. Haven't flown the FLET with that line removed, but I would assume my FPS would be rocking. Anyone else seen behavior like this before? I now have an idea why when flying test versions of DCS World I always have better FPS. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website

Spetz Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 So tried this out tonight for DCSW 1.2.6 and can't get it to record. Install goes smooth, all the right additions etc are done with the .lua and .cfg, but will not record anything and there is no file to open after a flight. The little DCSW symbol was on the bottom right. Did both the auto and manual install to verifiy and tried closing and leaving open the program.
HiJack Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 In ..Saved Games\DCS\Scripts make sure the export.lua contains local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/TacviewExportDCS.lua')
HiJack Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 And you need to change the allow_object_export variable in network.cfg to this: allow_object_export = true,
St3v3f Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 And you need to change the allow_object_export variable in network.cfg to this: allow_object_export = true, To be precise, the host needs to have this set. aka: Baron [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
-Mop- Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I did everything mentioned in the post above... but i dont get tacview to run... just an empty .txt file is created with 0kB... multiplayer and singleplayer no difference. i´m running the free version 1.2.4 with dcs 1.2.6 please help
HiJack Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 If you get the "Tacview-20130911-224151.txt.acmi" file then Tacview is most lightly working but you have not played on a server that exports objects. Try to play some on the 51st server and check again.
Spetz Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 As stated in my original post, I did both auto and a manual install. Both of these added and changed the proper areas, but still do not work. Do you just need to select the DCS World option in the recording tab? That's all that showed bottom right.
HiJack Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Yes, if DCS World is selected it should show an icon down to the right. I'm out of ideas here but you may check that UAC is disabled on windows and that you run DCS World/Tacview as "Administrator".
Spetz Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 UAC is disabled and installed and run as administrator. I don't know really.. Wish the website reflected the current version etc..too bad. Maybe I'll fart around with it again tonight.
ENO Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Spetz, I'm not sure if you answered the question about the export objects and the servers allowing export in the network.cfg file. I can't remember but there was an additional line that needed to be added over in the saved games folder- I'll have to dig it up. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
HiJack Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Yes thats true ENO, my post number 136, and you also need to copy the Export.lua over to ..Saved Games\DCS\Scripts
Spetz Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Sorry guys. I did everything that was required according to the website and what has been mentioned here. I'll have a another look at it soon. I have to verify that it's actually being saved to the proper location, maybe that's the issue..hope so
Foul Ole Ron Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Did you install to the default location in Program Files or did you install to some other location on the C:\ drive? I just bought Tacview this evening, installed to the C:\ drive in a new folder I created, gave it admin rights and tested it on single player 1.2.6 without any problems.
Hoggorm Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 My Tacview wont record any flights even though I've deselected and reselected Record:DCS World Flights in the options. There is a small DCS logo displayed in the right lower corner. Any ideas why it is not recording?
33rd_Havoc Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Hey Guys, is there already a working version from Tacview for DCS 1.2.7 ?
blackbelter Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Tacview works with 1.2.7 with no problems... At least for me.
Vortex225 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Me too. However, I wasn't able to get it to work for the open beta.
