the only 'psychological' effect would be to turn thousands of hitherto patient and loyal DCS customers into a horde of crimson-faced, raging psychopaths...

I don't expect to see the patch until March now. Frustrating how sloooow the process is. Again, netcode should not delay content update. That's the same as saying you can't drive that new car until we fix the highway, even if you prefer the scenic route instead. :)

Well, in this case highway = multiplayer, and scenic route = single-player. :)

They have released a couple of updates since the netcode has been messed up, I don't think it would be wise for them to release yet another that does not fix one of the essential functions of the sim, you personally may not care much about the online experience but MANY do and having random crashes nearly 100% of the time is frustrating.

The new content is simply not as important as making sure the existing stuff actually works as designed, sorry to be blunt but many are tired of waiting for a stable online game.

Its still better to drive around in a nice car on a nice road without geting out every now and then to check WTF just happen and where that huge hole came from.

I rather wait and get better product than rush it and be angry at ED that they didnt fix this and that.

Sounds like a nice plan. I reckon ED are watching this thread very closely now she's popped up. :D

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

I agree with you. That's why I believe that content updates should be detached from netcode fixes. And if the netcode takes extra time - so be it. If content is ready to go - give us the update.

Content updates should not affect the netcode anayway, since netcode is a core issue of the underlying game (or game-engine) structure, while content shouldn't be. If it were, then the modular approach of DCS would affect every 3rd party developer. I doubt that 3D model builders have the capability to debug netcode anyway.
