You assume "net code" is all that has been worked on. I'm fact many of the things that have been fixed affect both single player and multi player, it's just that many of the crashes and instabilities are more apparent and occur more often in MP.

it's either Fix it now, or delay content even more later when it becomes an even bigger problem.

they chose "fix it now" route, which is the right route.

the "i want, i want, i want"/"give us content" posts are getting annoying.

let them fix the problems with the engine, and stop telling them to stop just to put out content you want that prolly isnt ready anyway, or is already been updated to use the updated netcode and releasing it early would just cause more problems, jeez.

I didnt see anyone asking MS for more "content" instead of fixing the core of Windows Vista....... yeah.. i went there.

... and when one of you invents a magical code management system that can make splitting of such works and releases easy and painless for the developers, I'm sure that you will get your wish.

Well, get to it! :D:D:D

PS: And what Eddie said.

I agree with you. That's why I believe that content updates should be detached from netcode fixes. And if the netcode takes extra time - so be it. If content is ready to go - give us the update.

Content updates should not affect the netcode anayway, since netcode is a core issue of the underlying game (or game-engine) structure, while content shouldn't be. If it were, then the modular approach of DCS would affect every 3rd party developer. I doubt that 3D model builders have the capability to debug netcode anyway.

Well, Mila Kunis aside (and back on topic) let's look forward to the next round of volunteers testing the patch over the course of the weekend, and another quick note from Wags regarding its delay on Monday. :)

PS: And what Eddie said.

It's been invented a long time ago. Called Consultants. When working at Honeywell we had a team that couldn't figure out a couple of bugs in software. We simply hired outside help to review it. Only took a couple of weeks. The engineers didnt like it but our customers had their product working.

2 months of active troubleshooting should have been more that enough. Almost enough to write the net code from scratch.

Sometimes when someone is lost all you have to do is turn the map around because it's upside down.

On another note, I could imagine that Wags is beginning to get pretty ticked off. He has to keep kicking the can down the road and take the grief from customers and defending the slow progress, while he should be reaping benefits of good product and working on the next milestone. I know how he feels for sure but the entire team gets the glory when everything shines, and the grief when a few don't work to par.

DCS World is growing, the bugs we are seeing are growing pains.... I think the ED guys are doing fine with them considering what has been added so far and going forward....

The have a plan I am sure of how they want to proceed, with the quality of products we have seen so far, I think they deserve a little trust in what they do.

It really isn't. I've seen outside help brought in for significant problems as well as cleaning up code to reduce the size. They may already be doing it for all we know. On the back burner, management sometimes gets a second bonus. An insurance policy if one or more programmers are ever lost for whatever reason. Having someone familiar with the work isn't a bad thing.

Quite stable. The problems start with 16 + players usually. If the mission is not ground / naval units, and can be 32 - desmatch.

This is a big problem...... if problems with vehicles and naval vessels can not be solved, I think certain parts of DCS: W can be remove of them and put hold any 3rd Parties development or add new vehicles and ships if applicable...., to help the aerial devices section (planes and helos). If the problem persists, that can be make tragic situation for a part of the community interested on land / sea warfare (remember that stability problems began with Combined Arms) Delay all by mouth or years :(.

this is just a guess on my part, but if the worst fears are confirmed, we will have to sacrifice that part of world to safeguard the gameplay?
