Was sure hoping this was fixed. Are the devs just not seeing this issue? Or is it something that is just the way it's going to be from now on?

Sure would be nice to see the autoupdater used to deploy a nice little incremental patch to fix this issue instead of having to wait for a whole new large version.

I thought it was the same issue too, but apparently not.

I was orbiting at 5000ft in my A-10C and my squaddie tested the new GC features.

Suddenly he told me to look down below me and I saw some huge explosions, without any FPS drops at all. I think he used 3-4 MLRS system at once. It covered roughly the same area as an 87. I can't really say if the explosions was new, perhaps a little bit brighter.

I was preparing for the usual 10 FPS decrease we had in 1.2.2 but it didn't happen.

it wasnt reported as fixed, so i dont see why people were expecting something that wasnt listed in the fixes.

Exactly. Let's return to what we know: Is there any info (official) available for when it is gonna be fixed or info about the reason causing this drop?

I can not be vga related because I seen it happen even if the explosion is not observed. So it has to be something with the calculations (damage, impact whatever) made when the bombs hit the ground.

Prolly in whatever version the overview video was done on, whatever changes they did in that dev build that's further down the road looks to have resolved alot of stutter issues (judging by the video at least).

As long as the developers are aware of it and are working on it I wont argue. I am confident they will get it resolved. I think I may try lowering my settings or some of the other workarounds that have been mentioned.

Those are CBU-87's.

In my experience all the cbus, the rbks, the kmgus and even air rockets cause the issue. Btw, im willing to renounce to the advanced explosions to get back the fps. I had read something abt the conf file, but cant find the thread. Can anybody explain how is it done? Thx

I have noticed a FPS drop with 1.2.3 especially black smoke and the ever present cbu / mlrs hit

I am sure it will be addressed at some point. . .

The cbu stutter is due to number of objects being put into the world when they impact.

Put your plane to a remote location in the editor, like far far far north, where the map is only flat and there are no buildings, water etc.

Hit ctrl+pause/break two times to get the FPS, object and triangulation counter up.

Release a single cbu-87. Observe the object number as the bomb disperse and make impact.

Your object number goes from ~100 to over 2000!!

This brings your cpu to it's knees.

I can't speak for the CBU-87, but for the CBU-97 I get a stutter with the explosion, not the objects. When the canister opens and the BLU-108s are released my framerates are still good, but when a tank, even just two or three of them, explodes, my framerate drops from the mid-40s to 7.

Will this help for the cbu ?

I have deleted(possible to just rename tho) all the ground*.pfx files in the 3 folders low - high (backup first!! )

smokecloud.pfx too
