So seems to speculate that they are going to get more WWII aircraft and maps. So here's hoping we'll see Europe to fly in soon!

Not a fan of WWII aircraft either....but the maps is what caught my attention. I would hope they capture Europe really nicely since it would be an amazing flying area to do missions. That and since the aircraft they are talking about is German....I'm excited.

Since Il-2 I've been dreaming of a DCS-like Avro Lancaster... (sigh)

Bombing raids against Berlin would be so epic!

+1 ok it was a B17 but I loved the mighty eighth. Great sim, never ever flew the aircraft, I always jumped between the other crew members, now doing that, in a multi crew, multi player enviroment and modern graphics. :o

That would be amazing. Almost as good as a Huey sim. ;)

Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros.

In fact, we have a partner with quite a lot of experience in this area!

I wonder who that is? :pilotfly:

Me I love any kind of decent flight sim, so I'm happy.

Recently opened up the Mustang in FSX... yick! :joystick:

The next few years are going to be great for DCS.

Yeah I know what you mean - night mission... night fighters, navigation, dodging friends in the stream, long duration, search lights, flak, weather, battle damage - a wimpy for me but much the same dream - ho hum... maybe one day.

I'd quite happily immerse myself in similar axis night ops as well as... (as I've done before, just for the record, in IL2).

The FW looks awesome can't wait to fly against it, and even more so, to fly in it!

I love the P-51 module, even though it doesn't quite fit with as many on these forums. I think the inclusion of WWII aircraft (among other era's) is amazing...even if it's all under one roof. Matter of fact, I think it's amazing it's all under one roof. No other flight sim apart from FSX can you fly a P51, F-15 Eagle and A-10C (all human players) in formation. Hell pepper a few Huey's in there and (from the American perspective anyway) there's 60 years of aviation history under one playable roof....that's cool even if it's not "realistic" in that way many complain it's not.

I believe the step process (as lengthy as it seems) is the only sustainable way to move forward with the series. The numbers and resources dictate the flow, passion and devotion will only take you so far.

Thanks for the update Wags, much appreciated and looking good!

Battle of Stalingrad from 1C studios will cover a lot of this ground. I guess they are not the partner though.

Seems like a bit of a double up to me

It seems like everyone is forgetting the fact and connection:

UBISOFT > IL2 > LOMAC > DCS

Is it any clearer now how it comes that DCS has it's eye on WWII?

I wanted to say this for a long time :D

So excited by the announcement, I love WWII aircraft and onwards, sorry ROF:cry:.

ED is the future of the genre:pilotfly:

ED was and is the simming future, no doubt on my side, i began with the SU-27 Flanker and FC1-2 and now owner of A.10C, P-51D, owner in the future of UH-1N Huey (not from DCS) but the FW 190D-9 for the first.

There will be a lot more for sure!!

Is there any specific reason for omitting the swastikas from the liveries? I could think of several, but just wanted to ask for clarification.

If you build it..........we will come

Always.

If you want to sell it in Germany, they cannot be used.
