I'm sorry if this is really dumb question, but I cannot find this information anywhere on the website or on the forums.

What's the difference between the Su-25T that you get for free with DCS world, and the $15 one that's labelled "Su-25: DCS Flaming Cliffs" ?

One is a SU-25A with a fully 3D cockpit.

The other is the SU-25T, which will soon have a 3D Cockpit.

There are a number of differences:

The Su-25T has the following that the Su-25 doesn't:

- The shkval tv / ir tracking system

- vikhr anti-tank missles

- SEAD capability

- infrared jamming

The Su-25 is more of a rocket and bomb truck and doesn't carry all the electronics that the "T" does. But it is faster and more agile.

So the Su-25T isn't "inferior" to the Su-25A, although it's free?
Technologically, it is far superior to the -25A. But people like the -25A because it is faster and more manouverable and more of a challenge to fly and do attack runs.

The only reason the Cy-25T is free is because Ubis$ft doesn't own it .

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Actually, I meant "inferior" in the sense of it being an inferior game/module/simulation to the Su-25? Like, less features, poorer flight model, poorer AI, less/worse missions, etc etc?

It's NATO designation is the Frogfoot-A, to save confusion some call it the 25A, 25vanilla or more appropriately the Grach.
And they call the "T" the Toad, just as a nickname though.

I call it a brick personally..

No, it is simply a good plane for starters with a ground attack role on FC3 level. What refers to less complex systems management and none clickable cockpit. it is a fine plane and not "inferior" to any of the Flaming Cliffs planes. No tricking someone into: if you want to really play it you have to get the paid version crap. It is more a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer the A-10C, other love the Blackshark or Huey, and others prefer SU-27 or the free SU-25T

NO, They both have Advanced Flight Models, Damage, and Simplified/Non-Clickable Cockpit Systems,

Su-25T will have a 6DoF Cockpit in the future (in progress).

Su-25T is an Electronic Version, that uses more advanced/guided weapons.

Su-25 is a Older version without the electronics, it's also a bit faster and more maneuverable due to the lighter weight.

Slightly askew of the topic, what is the difference with the TM and the T? I read a post saying the TM (Su-39) cockpit is the same as the T, obviously the TM can carry different weapons...
All I know is the TM can carry anti-ship.

Su-25TM uses Modernized Avionics as well as External Radar Pod.

Also more importantly the Su25 is generally flown by much sexier pilots than the Toad and Hog. So get your credit cards out studs.

External radar pod, supports anti aircraft and antiship capabilities and some enhanced avionics...

The main thing I love on vanilla Su-25 is the old fashioned instrument flying, without any help of fancy MFDs or HUD.

One of the most demanding skills in DCS World is landing it in zero visibility conditions using your analog instruments only :joystick: :pilotfly::D

Where is the problem with that? I'd like to have something of the size of a 747 with DCS fidelity flight model ^^

Su25 definatly is fun, although target identification is hard. It does not feature a missile warning system nor optics, so double careful with possible Airdefense in the AO

I'd call it a brick s***house in a complimentary way, I've taken multiple SAM hits in both the A and T models and still been able to carry on with the mission!

"Frogfoot gives not a damn".
