So the IR has been fixed for CA, but does it work for the A10c? Texture was missing before..haven't downloaded yet..

 

Actually, I think it should read "Fixed IR pointer". I made a little test with just the A-10C, and it worked like a charm :)

Has the camera /ground boundary box been fixed yet?

 

I can rotate the camera view so that I'm look up from under the earth; also F-15C wheels aren't seated to the runway ground but float above.

Change Log States:

 

Glide slope ring and К, Г marks for landing mode are now present for airfields with full Russian ILS system.

 

If this means that on the ILS that both the FD large Flight Director circle and the small Deviation circle are on the HUD then its not fixed. I only see the larger Flight Director circle in the HUD on the SU27,MIG29,SU33 and SU25T. Also not seeing the "К, Г" in the HUD either.

Flew around Krymsk and did indeed get everything, Both Circles and the "К, Г" symbols. So I guess that these only appear where Charted ILS installations are on the Map.... which is as Wags says in the change log. However it is still very inconsistent. Using this rational the Airfields at Tiblisi Lochini and Vaziani have ILS installtions in the ME. However when you fly the approaches you dont get the Small deviation HUD circle or the "К, Г" indications.

in trying to solve this BUG I have flown ILS approches in the MIG29 to all airfields that have ILS installations in the ME. That is:

Krmysk,Krasnodar Central,Maykop,MinVody,Mozdok,Nachlik,Beslan,Senaki,Kutasi,Koubleti,Batumi,Vaziani,Soganlug, Sochi.

 

The ONLY airfields that get the full symbolgy of both Large FD circle and small deviation circle and "К, Г" indications are Krymsk,Krasnodar central,Maykop, and Mozdok.

 

So does this mean that the only airfields in DCS equiped with the russian ILS system are Krymsk,Krasnodar central,Maykop, and Mozdok ?

If so then the Russian ILS installations should be labelled separately to the stock standard ILS systems.

 

The next question then is what references does the Large FD circle use (and the Deviation bars on AI and HSI) when sequencing from RTN to LNDG mode a.nd non ILS/KRM equipped airfields. Is it purely a pseudo ILS like flight path determined by IRS references only ?

Why is there a bias always towards NVIDIA ? Should I ditch ATI and get a NVIDA card just so my DCS experience is better ?

 

I wish we could have some feedback on why ATI has issues with DCS.....

I don't have any problems with my 7970. In fact DCS runs better on my 7970 than before on 560Ti SLI :).

that was more than 2 years ago, but also as far as I remember AMD HD6xxx series cards were not very impressive compared to previous gen (which is why I skipped it and went from HD5870 to HD7970)

 

But that comment from ED that AMD graphics card drivers use cheats... can't comment... true that many AMD GPU users saw these white flashes could be the glitches because of it, but I also remember back in IL-2 days there were some issues with nVidia cards also... and I think in LOMAC/FC so I still don't think its true to say/think AMD drivers/cards are the only ones with glitches etc.

Russian ILS only works on following airports:

 

Krasnodar - Center (Russia)

Krymsk (Russia)

Maykop - Khanskaya (Russia)

Mozdok (Russia)

This is for Russian aircraft. The Russian aircraft can only utilise the Russian ILS system. This system is incompatible with the Western ILS system.

 

So for Russian aircraft you only get ILS steering at Krymsk,Mozdok,Maykop, and Krasnodar central when you sequence from RTN to LDG mode. at these airfields you will get both the large HUD FD circle and the small deviation circle and the K and L annunciations.

 

At the other airfields you wont get the K,L indications or the small deviation circle. You still get the large FD circle but its not referenced to an ILS beam but (my assumption devs confirm please) a DR Reference line in space using INS/GPS for steering reference. (This type of thing is regularly done in aviation today as a GPS approach).

 

I have attached a map I am using to indicate what and which type of ILS is where. When looking in the ME the Russian ILS can be identified by the lack off any Freq value at the start of the ILS fan beam symbol. Western ILS have the ILS freq annotated at the beginning of the ILS beam symbol. Not exactly obvious but usable.

A bit more details regarding the tanker, I've just tested it with a few mates on the STP server. It connects only for a second and then gives a message "Refueling complet". I know you are checking this but I hope any detail may be helpful.

Hi,

 

When I first flew DCS World today I was informed via the auto-updater that there was an update available. I didn't want to update just then because I don't like flying and fighting while downloading so thought I'd update after I was done simming. And that's what I tried to do. It tells me to update via the auto-updater and/or the module downloader but I can't find it. I've searched everywhere especially in the module downloader and can find the modules for sale but can't find the DCS 1.2.6.18651 Update 1 or the auto-updater anywhere.

 

How or where do I download the DCS 1.2.6.18651 Update 1 - Change Log from?

 

I've read through all 12 pages of this thread, searched all of the DCS World website and in the DCS World simulator itself and can't find the update. I even used the "Search" function at the top of this page!! Now who ever does that!?

 

Anyway, can someone please tell me where to download it from? Either here at Eagle Dynamics or within the DCS World combat flight simulator? I've just spent the better part of 2 hours (that I'll never get back!) trying to update and I'm still lost! I don't know why others haven't had this problem. Hmmm???
