Long start times from desktop to main menu
Akula replied to Simicro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Quick update: BIOS, Nvidia and Intel Arc update hit me last week so I just updated *everything* and tested again with hyperthread support enabled. Double clicked the regular BIN executable (not the MT executable) From desk top to DCS main menu with HT enabled - 2:03, as in two minutes, three seconds From desk top to DCS main menu with HT DISabled - :43, as in forty three seconds This isn’t a user issue. I hope ED looks into this because it looks like hyperthread support is broken in DCS. -
F86 SABRE JET COCKPIT REPAINT. BLACK VERSION

Except he was talking about using a mod manager and that the files would be overwritten each time DCS updated? -
@Calvin.Pimax Ive been doing what I can to get pimaxplay 1.41.2 to run DCS with quadviews. I have multiple issues with DCS crashing that appear related to quadviews. Im using only quadviews within PP. I have uninstalled the openrx items. 1) without quadviews I get a pretty soil 35fps and DCS seems crash free. (im using syria instant action f14 takeoff from turkey the night one as a test) 2) with quadviews I get a pretty solid 35 fps or 60fps or 85 fps it just depends on how it feels during that launch I guess I cant find anything related to this not even resolution / global settings vs game settings. More resolution I get maybe 85 fps then i dial it back and I get 35 fps 2) with quadviews running like crap (35 fps) and settings low say 70% render resolution dcs wont crash or wont crash quickly. 3) with quadviews running great like 80-90 fps at 100 or 150% render resolution It usually crashes in a minute to 10 minutes or on final load screen just before you click "fly" or whatever with the background and cockpit visible behind that window. there is no consistency or obvious pattern to which outcome im going to get. Is there anything I can submit or provide you that could help isolate this issue?

Dynamic weather has been mostly untouched since DCS 1. It does not even support the "new" clouds from 2021.

As a prior Master Gunner looking at these ranges and using some common sense you can tell these are pretty fubar. I'm not going to give away information, but I would love to know where this "correct as is" information came from. The M60A3 outranging everything by over 1nm..(Greatest MBT of all time confirmed?) Hate to be the bearer of bad news but those NATO MBTs 120mm are smacking those big scary T series all day long while the challenger 2 continues to touch them at 2.8+nm. Someone must have forgot that the Challenger has the world record of a 2.75nm tank kill on a T-55 sooo there's that. I placed each unit in the same exact spot, used the ruler to measure from the center of the vehicle to it's engagement range. It's pretty lame when making missions and the units can't engage because they're ranges are wrong.

My Feedback on this Campaign
omnijinx replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Thanks, yeah I don't have a ton of perspective here since I'm new and this is only my second campaign. I didn't realize you could re-arm in campaigns (the other one I played, Inherent Resolve, constantly tells you DO NOT CHANGE LOADOUT but I guess that isn't a general thing). I can partially fix this on my end then by packing AIM-120s. -
i have an alienware r12 which has an older mobo than your system. it is ddr4 with 4 sticks of 32. when i purchased it in april 2021 the system propaganda stated it would run at 3400. when i did the initial setup, the speed was show 2800. i called dell and they had me update the bios, and then i was able to get XMP1 enabled to get the 3400. maybe update of your bios will allow you to enable XMP.

Hey Pluton I am using the Quest 3S 128 GB. The memory in the Quest is for internal storage (if you want to use the headset for gaming etc without the PC). For DCS the Quest 3 storage is not being used (since DCS use your PC hardware and storage, the client is on your PC) Hand-tracking sounds very fun, I have not tried it yet . Though that stick-shaker you have sounds even better, perfect fit for the Phantom( it loves to shake its butt when attempting to land).

Hi everybody! I am looking for information on the general structure of the military air traffic control structure in both the FRG and GDR around the 1980s. What am I looking for specifically? Anything which can provide specific information about agencies, their locations, frequencies used, their area of responsibility, etc. Of high interest to me personally are: What are the stations a training flight in peace time would be flowing through when they take off at their home base to fly to a range or training air space in the FRG? If anyone could help me out by shedding some light on this topic for me, please reach out! Thanks and best regards, Rohrkrepierer o7 Edit: https://www.atc-ansa.org/english/publications-books-archive?pk_vid=991edeafc5d1919b1756746863222bfc Here you can find a series of great books by Frank W. Fischer on the topic.

I think you aren’t supposed to replace the original files, but put the mod in the savegames folder (subfolder for mod/…/ cockpit)

The US never used APKWS on the KW. We had L2MUM when I deployed in 2012. We picked up the birds in country and we were the 3rd unit to get them, so L2MUM had been on the aircraft since probably 2009 or 2010. No, using L2MUM and APKWS in the 1990s would not be reasonable.

I've not officially announced it yet, but takes this as the official statement of intent...I'm deep into research for an Iraqi Freedom F16 campaign. Would expect to start work on it next summer when I've completed my A10 Afghan campaign.

My Feedback on this Campaign
Badger633 replied to Taxman's topic in F/A-18C Rise of the Persian Lion Campaign
Hey @omnijinx The missiles in mission 8 are definitely Aim-9Ps. You are correct with the missiles in Mission 6 from the F4s , which I noticed you beat, thanks for the Tacview. So Mission 8 should be a much easier task. You can actually change the load outs if you want but they were selected to make the air fight a reasonable challenge. They also promote more close up dog fights which can be more interesting. Generally my Campaigns are thought of as much easier than many of the campaigns. As a designer it is a difficult balance to strike as some will find it hard and others easier dependant on how experienced the pilot is. The missions are normally about 1 hour long which is much shorter than a lot of the other campaigns, which can be twice that. -
Hi Gorbys I am using a 5 GHz Wi-Fi at home. But I have connected from my router to my PC with a Cat-6 network cable (Ethernet). Cat-6 supports up to 10Gb/s internet traffic. So I transfer 10 Gb/s direct from my Wifi-router via cable straight into my PC. So I only use the wireless WiFi between my PC and my VR-headset. I strongly recommend you buying atleast a Cat-6 cable, it only cost like 40 dollars and made a big difference for me. The more cable you have between internet and your VR-heaset the better. But if you buy a cable to the headset it must be a high data transfer cable aswell (in my case it was not needed).

All USA customers please note that the Trump import duty is now in effect. All new orders will be subject to a 10% import duty plus handling fee (currently 50 pence) and will be included in the invoice so that the postal delivery duties will be pre-paid. I will absorb this for current orders that are currently in production. Shipping costs are also currently under review and will be updated shortly.

I have tried both 50 and 60Hz. I only have DC LED lighting in this room, so AC frequency should be irrelevant anyway. I will, however, try your tip and look for flickering in passthrough. It is definitely the tracking. If I disable tracking (recline mode) everything is fine.

Hi Together, I have DCS World Version 2.9.19.13478 installed with some add-ons such as the FA-18C, F-16 etc. I'm currently facing the problem that I loose axis control after take-off from the super carrier. Throttle and stick are not working any longer. This applies only to carrier take-off. I recall having had this issue already previously but blame on me, I can't remember the solution. Does anybody have an idea of how to fix it? I recall that it was only a minor setting in another program which has to be changed. Many thanks for your help. Achim

Ah, you're correct. The Warthog was basically made for DCS, so the TM peripherals get "locked" automatically. The TM MFDs behaves the same way, as there should be no reason to change anything. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

ACH-47F - Fictional Mod based on CH-47F
H60MTI replied to ANDR0ID's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Yeah, it's not the LUA. It's the folder with the textures in it for the Hook. I created a copy of that ZIP folder so whenever I update, I just have to copy and paste the file and I'm good to go.
