  2. The square boxes are a thing with quad views. You can play with the size of the foveated region and the border region in quad views companion to tweak it but it’s always there a bit. There is a bit of smearing I noticed in the PSVR2, some of it for me was DLSS introduced. It is more than it is in my Pimax Crystal Super (but different worlds in price there!), but less than in the Quest Pro.
  3. I think a lot of people really avoid the public servers. For me Coop is just a natural extension of singleplayer (everything is better with friends?). I don't even think of it as multiplayer per se. It's the default way of playing for a lot of games...
  4. In other words, almost just like in the actual military, only it's easier to hide the beer. I'm all for using proper procedures and a detailed planning session, but "milsim" really shouldn't mean simulating the BS, too. Most of us get enough of that already.
  5. Why would you start with the Huey when your real love is the Gazelle. You can learn to fly a helicopter with the Gazelle just fine. They work the same, even if they might feel a bit different in a direct A to B comparison. @Tasky Only general advice I have (apart from watching Youtube tutorials), do everything slow and in small increments (talking about collective, pedals and cyclic). Add power slowly until you feel the Helicopter wanting to yaw. Hold it there and compensate with rudder. Add a little more, rinse and repeat. Eventually the Helicopter starts to tilt (pitch and bank), compensate with cyclic. If you do everything VERY slowly, you will eventually be able to balance it and pick it up. From there it is just practice, practice, practice. It helps if you have a stick with a long throw and little spring resistance.
  6. Try at 75-80 and see if it lights on. I did not have time to test ED's implementation.
  7. This week, my friend who flies a MiG will make a flight and I will describe it then, but the MiG-29 doesn't accelerate that fast, but okay, I think I'll get there on Thursday, pilot. I know this plane very well, I'm regularly at the airport and spend time there.
  8. If you try using multiple hydraulic systems at the same time, the gear will hang up occasionally. For example, if you drop your flaps too early and they have trouble extending, the pressure isn’t available to push the gear down. Try dropping the gear first, and confirm they are fully down before extending the flaps.
  9. If R-27R always takes 4 seconds to prepare why if I lock them inside max range do they seem ready in less then 2 seconds?
  10. Expected patch for the Mig-29 Flusrum. I hope the East German aircraft correctly display the NVA emblem on the underside of the wings. It's already incorrect on the Mig-29 (FC3). The emblem is always displayed from left (black triangle) to right in the direction of flight. It's correct on the upper side of the wings and on the rudder.
  11. Hello Everyone, I know that there was a problem with Mission 03 and was submitted to E.D. for updating in May. For whatever reason, that update has not been made available in the subsequent 3 DCS World updates so I'm offering the mission here gratis. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a7kDbb3EmMJkvmLc4bbaglYIrFEKyGzq?usp=sharing I honestly have no idea when version OAS v3.72 will be released by E.D. but I hope it will be soon. All the best, King39
  12. The west directions are only active if there is enough wind from west (6-8 knots minimum). Else the east direction PRMG are active.
  13. Alright, so if the 2 sectors (50 & 90) are merged due to reduction of channels, that still doesn't explain why the 90 deg light doesn't come on (until what I tested to be around only ~5.5Km). If the two are merged then they should both light up at the same time, right?
  14. Hey @Taskyhow are and welcome to the forum! What kind of peripherals do you have? It's of course easier with an FFB cyclic or a joystick without springs, and pedals. Most throttles work fine as collective, ( as a personal choice I make sure to invert the axis so it works more like a collective). To get into a hover so you can invoke the auto hover, turn the switch on the ADI to doppler. Then you align the two yellow "pins" so they overlap in a perfect cross. It's also very handy for practicing hovers. I don't remember the training missions that much, but you can "cheat" and get into a semi hover, and invoke "Active Pause" during the weapons employment. You won't be able to turn though. So make sure you point at the targets. I also recommend reading the manual, to see what other tricks you can do to make the instrumenta help you. Cheers!
  15. I have always wondered, quietly to myself, how ED knows if the model is high fidelity or not? If ED already has all the information to benchmark a potential model by, why doesn't ED itself hire a shedload of creators and release every aircraft known to man? Unless I am acting extremely naive, which I do admit to being from time to time... I sit and await an education.
  16. I’m hoping the DCE causes developers to face the same challenges that mission designers and server admins have dealt with, so these issues finally get higher priority and faster fixes. (Things like AI taxiing and airfield issues, pathfinding, overall AI improvements, better save/resume features, and enhancements to logistics (e.g., control over slots / dynamic spawns for FARPs), etc. I'm also hoping that it's customizable and flexible, letting players setup the iniitial battlefield to different scenarios instead of sticking to a rigid “one-size-fits-all” dynamic campaign. Ultimately (and fantasizing now) - once it’s available for multiplayer, I'm hoping for great flexibility and control - supporting scripting (so we can implement CSAR, Better explosions, etc like we can with current missions) and have a game master mode to allow server administrators (or even SP players themselves) to adapt the battlefield to their preferences. All that aside - I think earlier this year ED announced that they're hoping to have DCE released sometime later this year. Has there been any updates since then? Confirmation that it's still on track for a release later this year?
  17. Check out the YouTube channel “Helicopter lessons in 10 minutes or less”. That will give you background information in order to understand why stuff happens the way it does. There are also other YT channels dedicated to DCS helicopters.
  18. I do have advice. Start with the UH-1. Fly it, and practice it until you can hover it over a dime. Get a book from Amazon about flying Helicopters. It will explain things like steep approaches, pinacle landings, etc. You probably will need to get good rudder pedals and a joystick extension. Once you do that my friend, you will be able to load up any helicopter in DCS, map the basic controls, and fly it around the world first time, no probs. Avionics is a different matter and will try your patience in some of the more modern helicopters.
  19. pls add region separate install with full map buyer
  20. What would help get me into MP? Two things: 1 - A video tutorial series, explaining in language a small dog could understand, exactly what is required to join MP and not look like a complete tool. 2 - The ability to instantly ban from all servers on Earth anyone who ever uses the phrase "split the community". #2 is a deal breaker. Thank you.
  21. Well its here ️ This is what we all dreamed of while flying the MiG-29 all those years ago in Flanker 2.5
  22. Hi all, First post and sorry it's such a noob question... I've just started DCS, been going through the F/A-18 tutorial and found it pretty great in terms of learning basic flight stuff. Of course my real love is helicopters and the Gazelle is one of my favourites, so I decided to have a bash at that, thinking the tutorial would be comparable to the F18 one... The Startup chapter was great and I really loved learning the sequence. Only thing missing was voice narration. But the next chapter is Weapons, for which you need to start in a stable hover. Since there's no tutorial on how to hover, land or fly in general, and since I seem to be pretty naff at figuring out how to do it with the trial-and-error method, the obvious question is... What would people recommend for learning to actually fly a helicopter in general, so I can get to flying the Gazelle? Many thanks, Tasky.
  23. You can use MOOSE events to catch when a Dynamic Cargo is loaded or unloaded: MOOSE Docs – OnEventDynamicCargoUnloaded However, this approach has a drawback: all types of Dynamic Cargo will be processed, so you’ll need multiple if conditions to check for the correct delivery zone and the specific cargo models. A much cleaner method is to use MOOSE SET_CARGO: Apply filters to select the cargo types you want to track. Use :ForEachCargo() to iterate over the active cargo objects. For each cargo, check with :IsInZone() whether it’s inside the target zone. If it is, increment a counter (counter = counter + 1). This way, you can implement logic such as: if counter >= 10 then -- build FARP end Remember to reset the counter every time you call the function to avoid counting the same cargo multiple times.
