the extra blur on the mav sensors remains even with the litening pod installed. They are blurier post ATP launch regardless of settings/pods installed.

Everything within 20nm use pilot acquisition modes (high/low vsl and pal). Yes Jester is unreliable up close, but regardless, you're much faster using the pilot acquisition modes, especially if the target is above the canopy frame using vertical scan high. Relying on Jester as locking "magic" is a mistake where a friend of mine used to do too much within 20nm. Just use him for spotting if the bandit is near. Using the command: lock enemy in front (or something similar) for Jester is a bit of a trap. If I recall correctly, it only works on highlighted contacts on the radar screen (white hafu). Further than 20nm, use TWS and the computer will do the rest with Phoenixes. If you want to STT a bandit (flying with a buddy), use jester wheel to grab the bandit using the distance and azimuth as reference that's written, or the contact number if you're in TWS. Phoenixes against bandits (fighters): NEVER launch beyond 20nm. Unless you want it to go defensive. Anything within 10nm is close to 100% kill. Max range are for bombers. You can use it like a Sparrow within visual range but you need to take into account its massive mass, although I've experienced a phoenix do a close to 90º turn right after launch when I was merged with a MiG-19. Big tip: Do some mission editor duels against ACE AI to get the handle of the Phoenix.

Here is a mission for Kola, with ground unit trigger zones like the last one I posted. The idea being, you can get close enough to the ground units to engage before they snipe you. It is way more playable this way. This one has AI hueys that come in as well. They are almost indestructable, but it seems like their evasion behavior has changed in a way that makes them more fun to chase around. The ground units and hueys are headed to attack blue assets in the bay. I play these as a sort of fight and respawn quickly if you need to kind of thing. Bodo oh6 hummers.miz -
Don't think mods have anything to do with that error. Might as well perform a full repair, and temporarily rename your Saved Games DCS folder to see if that works. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

When the Afghanistan an Iraq maps came out, I found the Iraq one looking quite a lot better. Now, after some updates, I think Afghanistan is the better / more beautiful map. Not only the textures, but also the scenes on the ground. Afghanistan feels more "alive", at the bases as well as in the cities and villages. That being said, the mountain shapes in Afghanistan still need some work, but I understand that with so many mountains, this might take a toll on the performance of the map.

I have the same gripes with the campaign and ended up refunding it. 1. Advertising your other campaigns so aggressively was a mistake. The first time was irritating, after that (when half of the screen got plastered with the covers of the other campaigns) I was simply pissed. It was very immersion breaking. I even own the other campaigns, I don't need you to tell me to buy stuff. There are also much subtler ways to allude to your other work. 2. The constant intel spam by Arco1-1 was very annoying as well but from the other thread, I see now that this is not your fault. Still, this never happened to me before in any other campaign... 3. Like Lowtimer, I am not a fan of the missions being split into segments. I get the idea and after all it is a nice QoL but it really breaks the immersion that you just get dropped into your aircraft and you have to re-do all the communication channels, your set-up etc. etc. 4. Some voices were AI, I didn't like that either. From your reactions here, I can tell that you are clearly dedicated to improve your campaign. I will definitively rebuy it once that is done!

I had been on a DCS hiatus for a while and I'm jumping back. Up until now, I had always used labels, because I always thought spotting targets and bandits on a 32" monitor is more difficult than from a real cockpit. But, I decided to give a try to turning off the labels. My struggle is both BVR and also within 10 nm with Jester. Any bandit at 10 nm is mostly just a couple of pixels and I can't visually identify them. But Jester, He doesn't always tell you that you're locking a friendly even though you did, he's often losing lock, he more doesn't know if a target is friendly or foe (airborne unknown), etc. Finally, after maybe 10 campaign missions (Operation Sandworm), my AIM-54s have missed 100% of the time, although I do try to shoot them when being high and fast, within probably 40nm of my targets. Any tips on how you guys manage BVR with Jester (PvE) and how you make your Phoenix hit the targets?

Yes, removing mods should be the first thing to do. Remove all of them and check if it works. If it does, add one after another.
