Forum question: How to jump to first unread post in a thread?
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to sthompson's topic in Chit-Chat
The only occurrences of weird forum behaviour like that - that I have noticed - is when ED deletes (or “hides” as they call it) certain posts. If there’s a lot of moderation going on, that function doesn’t seem to work properly. Other than that, I haven’t seen an issue with it… -
What capabilities should we expect from the F-104?
Tengah replied to Hatman335's topic in DCS: F-104
Kermit, I could debate your comments regarding the 104G vs Lightning issue, but to be honest, to what end? At the end of the day, they were two completely different aircraft intended for opposite roles, both hopelessly outdated/outmatched in terms of the current DCS aircraft module lineup. Reading your posts, it appears that the lighthearted "tongue in cheek" tone of my post regarding the EEL was lost in translation. Whilst I admit to being a huge fan of the EEL, I am also a huge fan of the Silver Sliver, and I am looking forward to its release in DCS. Peace to you fella. -
Hello Urbi, Well yes and no. I will not start a discusion here. Please provide the named files as .png or dds if you want. I will take a look about it. (You sent me .psd`s but I haven`t a licence for photoshop) Thank you very much for your comments. And nice skin for the ED-model of the MiG23. Very well done. Cheers TOM

Notifications about new content is where I have the problem. But not always. Today, for example, it seems to be working more or less as expected. But not on Saturday when I opened the thread. Then when I clicked on notifications about new content being added to the Newsletter thread (which I follow) I was sent to the top of page one of the thread. Doing the same thing on newer notifications today I'm sent to the relevant new content. Thank you for the reference to the appropriate forum. If I post again on this issue I will do it there.

MH-53 is possible as a module from one of the developers (3rd party), but this is only a guess based on some information and deduction. As for the ED, the next one will probably be the UH-60. Wags once mentioned that they have such plans for the future, so if I had a million to spare, I'd go for the Blackhawk .

cannot produce and mssing track file JDAMS falling off target
Sinclair_76 replied to Sting_Array's topic in Bugs and Problems
Will the JDAM absolute mode be included in the future? IRL bomb on coordinate (or pre-planned) even in 2007, was a thing. The better low visibility features and realistic TGP behavior all limit the imposed TTP of JDAM relative mode. The AGM-154 would also benefit due to the standoff where you wouldn't even be able to see the target met alone lase it. -
Hi, it seems that the CM-802AK only tracks via the "medium "size target. I did several tests and the missile does not track ships when " small" and " Large" settings are chosen. Only medium works fine. Any idea? Thx

For one, there wasn't a single Ki-84 involved in the battles in the Marianas. Which is what ED has decided to be their PTO experience. Sure there was just a few months between Saipan and Lyte gulf. But that's when the Ki-84 was first used.

The A6M5 was not far the most numerous of the late war fighter Japanese naval fighter types and thus represents the most likely you would encounter. The other issue with modelling a Frank is trying to find reliable data, and establishing how much of that performance was lost in build quality (pretty poor by that stage) and in reliability. A well built, carefully maintained Ki-84 would have indeed been a formidable opponent but in late 44/early 45 by all accounts they were rarely at their best in either category and their performance suffered accordingly.

Hello @Calvin.Pimax, thank you for contacting me. I was unable to respond to your private message until today, as I did not have time over the weekend. I have sent you the current ticket number via private message. In my last message to the young lady from the support team, I wrote that I can only accept another replacement if it is actually a headset with a guaranteed new optical unit. This message may be delaying everything! I don't know. I am 99% sure that the last replacement wasn't a new optical unit. The fact that 5 of the 6 previously reported problems are exactly the same again, and that the third point (chromatic aberration, triple vision in 3 different colors) is less pronounced because the brightness of the displays has been reduced, is a pretty big clue for me. However, I did not report the seventh issue because I felt that the other six issues were more than enough. The 7th issue was that the right display occasionally becomes slightly darker or lighter when switching from light to dark and vice versa. In the end, six out of seven problems remained completely unchanged, and one was mitigated. To get "another" one with all those exact issues, that's like winning the jackpot twice in a row with the exact same numbers. I don't think I'm that lucky. And please don't get me wrong, if the repair is done well, I have no problem with it. Unfortunately, the last repair (I think it was one) was more than inadequate, and then there's always this endless process of troubleshooting, documenting, reporting problems, waiting for responses, repackaging, and then waiting again to see if it will be better this time. Like everyone else here, I have to work hard for my money, and I know that mistakes are made or things don't always work like they should. No problem, I can and must live with that. However, I expect a repair to work, especially when the delivery includes a note signed by two people stating that the headset has allegedly passed all tests. I can say with absolute certainty that either what is written on the note is not true, or the tests are not good enough. I notice that I'm getting upset again, so let's stop. If I had the choice, I would prefer to receive a new optical unit and keep the old headset and optical unit. After the arrival of the new optical unit, I would test the new optical unit and send the old one back. That way, I would be sure that I would not end up with "another" unit that had been completely failed to repair. And if PIMAX has problems to deliver the normal 50 PPD optical units, I would even go with a wide FOV 50 PPD unit if this would fasten up the delivery and shorten my waiting. Unfortunately, it currently looks like I won't have a fully functional headset in my hands until the end of September, almost 11 months after I placed my order. That's tough. Nevertheless, thank you for your attention and with best regards

AGM-45 Shrike Quick Guide by Klarsnow - updated June 5th 2024
Kalasnkova74 replied to HB_Painter's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
In fact, what you’re seeing is not an ED weapon modeling issue. As I understand the AGM-45 wasn’t originally built to track radar sidelobes (the later HARM does). So this behavior, while inconvenient, is accurate. In the field, this situation is why the guy in back earned their pay; they could do EW magic and know which signal was a quality one to use for weapons employment and advise the “bus driver” up front when to shoot and when not to. Since Jester never went to EW WSO school & we just have the ALR-46, solving this problem means mission planning where the site is in advance, noting where the radar’s pointing and attacking the site from that direction. Just like the real world nutcases Weasels. -
Yeah I was just saying the basics as it didnt seem he understood the bare minimum for level flight scenario.

this issue is reported but no fix has been made yet, It does not always show and depends on the time of day / sun position and settings. I will bump it with the team again thanks -
I've found the cargo bay lighting knob and switches in at the ramp station, but there's no mouse interaction yet. I also mapped the knob and 3-position switch commands in the ramp station controls, but nothing I do will turn on the cargo bay lighting. What am I missing?
