You may already be aware, but when you activate autopilot on the ground the stick trims all the way forward and the key-bind will not switch the A/P off, you have to throw the switch by clicking on it with the mouse. I use a FFB stick and I believe this problem may be related to two others: Iceman trimming all the way forward when you jump in the back seat. ACLS nose-diving you into the sea when activated. For FFB users these related A/P faults are among the last remaining 'major' issues with the F-14. With the imminent and eagerly awaited release of the early A, it'd be nice if this bug was weeded out once and for all. These probably have already been covered in separate threads, but not sure these three problems being related has been brought-up before. If they have, my bad.

How about the Cessna T-41 Mescalero (It's basically a 172 used as a trainer). Seriously while I think there is little market for this commercially this might be good as a mod. Though I would side with the O-1 Birddog

Hi ESAc_flankercobra, It was because the Essex has 14 wires... I just fixed, now it should work. Have a great day! Hi fagulha, Sorry for the delay, to fix the problem I need the debrief file that crashed. By the way I just uploaded a new version with some fixes related to the corsair and the Essex, it may also solve your issues. Please let me know, Have a great day!

I run at 2700 (or whatever is the max rpm) and expect high speed, because this is what the real aircraft manuals tell me. You may be overthinking it a bit. While there are many factors that go into propeller design, and efficiency changes with speed and altitude, ultimately these things are considered during aircraft development. In service, the max performance is meant to be achieved at max power/max rpm setting. Even if there is some efficiency loss on the propeller, it is offset by the engine producing considerably more power at higher rpm. If a different RPM setting was required, it would at least warrant a footnote in the pilot's operating handbook. Here's an example speed chart for the Corsair, not the exact dash we have in DCS, but you get the idea:

Hi guys, I have a problem shortly after joining any multiplayer server. Usuallly after selecting dynamic slot or when I already spawn and textures are loading my PC completely freezes. My screen goes black and the only thing I can do is to reboot PC. I have already reinstalled the whole system including all drivers. I tried to increase page file, repair DCS, run in ST mode, with or without game mode or hardware accelerating. I really don't have any other ideas. Problem exists only in VR. My spec: Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RX 9070XT, 64Gb RAM 6000mT CL30, Meta Quest 3 dcs.log

I'm looking forward to this I also hope we get repelling from choppers too

@Peedee I think it's all about the CPU, if the 5090 can't deliver enough FPS. And I can say that the FPS are different from the AC and the map. Since I have "updated" from a 7950X3D to a 9800X3D, I am completely CPU bound in VR. Even in 2D 99% of the time I am CPU bound. It could have somthing to do with an update, but I am not 100 % sure. I believe the 9800X30 is a very good CPU, but not good enough for DCS. Perhaps I will buy a 9950X3D. Every extra power/MHz will translate in "moar" FPS. My test maps are Afghanistan and Germany (Berlin) and the AC's are the F16 and the AH64-Apache. Try the Apache over Berlin, low level flying or the F16 Cold Start in Afghanistan. Do you always get 72 FPS in those situations? Guys, I think the "Jitter" @Papamiraculi is talking about has something to do with the Headset-tracking and the Room Lightening frequency. @Papamiraculi try to change the frequency. Some old lights flicker. If you enable pass through, and you see a fast flicker, that's the thing that's causing the issue.

Adding Mosul Airfield and hopefully FOB's Marez and Freedom Good news for Mosul, can't wait to have a look.

If they're tying activation of ADI to what's on the MP dial that may be part of the problem.

Good to know. I have my fps capped in DCS at 100 FPS, and get this at a solid rate. I've checked it uncapped and the fps will bounce around upper 80s to 117 or so. My 100 FPS cap seems to be the right spot as discussed in this good video - "DCS World, Max FPS & Performance tweak tip" -
You can't. It's hard to see, but in my screenshot you can see that that option is disabled for APU OFF: I think that's only the case for the specific TM WH HOTAS. If you use a different one, you should be able to edit those. But anyway, I went all-in and completely gutted the electronics of the throttles, so I'll make it a DIY HID device with an Arduino Pro Micro. I've already sorted out the most complicated part which is reading the throttles, the rest are all buttons and switches and a couple of analog axis. Easy peasy Edit: confirmed, I plugged in my Winwing Orion throttle and you can edit those. It's just the Thrustmaster Warthog that doesn't allow you to do that.

I downloaded and installed the VSN F-35 mod but when I jump into it in the game, I have no cockpit, like at all...I know the F-35 is supposed to be able to "see through" the floor but I think this is pushing it a bit much.

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
BlackFalco replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
@currenthill Sorry for the "strange" question but.. : is it normal that for example troops from US pack won't open fire on threat? I've set up a very simple mission where troops get ambushed. Vehicles gunners would start engaging but troops won't, they'd just stand there still under fire without doin' anything. Is there some particular step I'm missing or something? Thanks a lot!. -
Ah man, I really appreciate you sharing this, thank you. I’m glad you had fun playing them. it’s interesting that you say Red Flag helped you succeed in AT, even though it’s for a different airframe but I can totally see why.

Well, my two cents... In the replay is jitters quite a lot for me too. Single player and the only mods installed are the A-4 and TacView. I can post the *.trk file if needed.

2circle started following F10 binding map vs. custom radio options in comm menu
-
So F10 is used to bring up the in-game map. With the comm menu open, it is also used to access user defined radio options (OTHER). Because I use this radio function so frequently, I'd like to bind it to a joystick button. So I redefined the map view to SHIFT+F10 and bound F10 to the radio option. What I can't figure out though is why when I press the joystick button associated with pressing the F10 button on my keyboard, the map comes up (this is after I entered the radio menu). Does anyone know why this is happening or can anyone suggest a workaround? I use VR, and the problem persists with voice attack as well. Thanks!

You are getting those Jester calls after landing about missing check list items. It was once fixed long time ago but seems to be back. I need to check. - Today
-
It does, yes. So you get all the way to SEARCHING and then nothing happens. It is indeed odd. I replayed this specific training mission and it seems to work alright on my end. Since the mission walks you through the steps and you obviously fired a missile successfully from the observer's position already, it is safe to assume that the procedure is correct. That leaves my best guess at: could it be you accidentally bound AI Helper LEFT to something that might fire accidentally, and thus close the target list prematurely?

I have installed this mod CH-47F Reduced Cockpit Textures [2K, no MipMaps] and I am now enjoying 140 fps with an excellent quality. I was not happy with the "medium" quality textures but with this mod the quality is awesome and the performance excellent. I know we all hope top have a better solution without having to use mods but at least on the meantime, this helps a lot.

F-35A mod download question
H60MTI replied to TheBiggerBass's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I know this is old but is there any kind of manual available for the VSN F-35 and which Flaming Cliffs bird do you need for it? -
CVW-66 is currently back in training at Nellis polishing their skills before the next deployment. During this time we are looking for some fresh nuggets to join our group, we currently operate three (fictional) US Navy squadrons; VF-119 “Tridents”, flying the F-14B Tomcat, VFA-166 “Maulers”, flying the F/A-18C Hornet and VAW-101 “Sea eagles”, providing Airborne command & control using LotAtc. Carrier Air Wing 66 is a DCS World PVE multiplayer group, centered on US Navy fighters and operations. We fly events in the EURO time zone and generally fly THURSDAY and SUNDAY at 1930 CE(S)T, which is always 1930 local time in Amsterdam. If you are outside our zone, but the times work for you, you are still free to apply. We can be considered a ‘hard-core’ unit, in that we emphasize training, qualifications and dedicated pilots that fly together over an extended period using realistic tactics, techniques and procedures. Before considering joining, you should be able to attend at least one mission a week as a general rule, in addition to personal training offline. We use Discord as our main hub of interaction and communications between missions . When flying, we communicate using SRS (Simple Radio Standalone). Our student pilots (or ‘nuggets’ as they are called in the US Navy), progress through a qualifications program, where they learn the basic skills in aircraft handling and procedures (IQ), as well as basic weapons and tactics (MQ) and of course, carrier qualifications (CQ). After successfully completing IQ and CQ, you join the Wing on 'Cruise', which is our take on a dynamic campaign. Find us on discord and and have a look at our Welcome Document there. After that, give us a shout if interested! https://discord.gg/4VaxAPkHv2
