Same here !!! Great memories and a lot of flying with that addon We already have a great selection of platforms to launch MK-X, GBU-X, AGM-X, AIM-X.... DCS also need to expand other roles and options and the Hercules and the Chinook are great platforms for that. The C-130 has always been one of my favourite aircrafts of all times so I am really happy to have the option to fly it in DCS.

Do a fast repair. Turn your pagefile to 30gb on a fast drive (sata or nvme SSD). Your DCS log points at only 2gb of pagefile set. Check for thermal issues on that i5 12600KF. I have the same CPU and that thing is HOT. Thermal issues will provoke system shutdown: Limit your fps and change cooler for that CPU if a thermal issue is found.

DMAS is "ok" I think. Better than the stock "speakers" at least. So I use them. I think the VR headset itself is heavy and warm enough, so I don't want to use another headset a top of the Super
-
If just have your headset "running" and launch DCS from its own startmenu - with VR option on in DCS - does it work then? Never bothered with adding DCS to Pimax menus.

I am experiencing a crash to power off anytime I use the MMS in the Kiowa. I no mods installed and have recently unparked my cores. Drivers are up to date as well on the GPU. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dcs.log

This case won't be any different :). The C-130J will be just as complex as most other modules in terms of systems and avionics. You could even say a bit more so, since you'll be managing and monitoring four engines. Of course, the issue of weapons will be eliminated, but on the other hand, we have the option of loading, unloading, and dynamic drop. This will replace the weapon, and here we will have to operate it (e.g., via the cargo master chief). In the module, procedures may play a greater role, you will have full FMC, you will be able to carry out a full SID/STAR approach procedure, you will be able to rely on a voice checklist. The MC-130J will also be a nice option as in-flight refueling support on Multiplayer missions. Contrary to what some people think, this module doesn't mean it's boring. Sure, there won't be any shooting, but it's an addition for people who: 1/ love Herc, 2/ are looking for in-depth simulation and procedures (not fighting only), 3/ are looking for cargo missions, 4/ enjoy large cockpits (it'll look amazing in VR!). The game changer here will definitely be the more expansion of the cargo option (please @Someone put pressure on the ED in this context , including paratroopers) and the spherical earth, where you will be able to do actual long missions from point A to B in different parts of the world (but that will probably take another 2 years or more). I spent a lot of time flying the C-130A in FSX (CaptainSim), , it was some time ago, of course. It was actually several months (dozens of hours) of Hercules flights. I had a blast creating and imagining the various missions, and the simulation was quite in-depth. I can definitely say one thing – I wasn't bored at all :).

Campaign Review: "Through the desert dust"
YoYo replied to HIGHLANDSPRING's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Hey guys, I honestly missed this thread because I'm following the main thread about the campaign. Thank you so much for such a kind review , and I'm very glad you enjoyed the campaign and that it provided a great experience for the "virtual" KW pilot. The module definitely deserves an interesting campaign, so I think this is a pretty good addition. I'm also drawing some conclusions for the future as well. Thanks again for the feedback! -
1. Set the Max. Frame rate in DCS to 60 FPS (it is always better to set it to the same FPS that you use in Opentrack). 2. Enable AMD FreeSync Premium in the Display settings of the Adrenalin UI (it limits the monitor frequency to the FPS rate of the game) 3. Optional: Enable Frame Rate Target Control in the Graphics Settings of the Adrenalin UI (problaby not necessary anymore since DCS has its own FPS limiter) 4. Optional: Set the Max. FPS to 60 in the Graphics Settings of the Adrenalin UI (it is the value below No. 3) 5. Remove the Optiscaler, not sure how exactly it works but to have an additional layer that needs performance and process time is never a good idea if you already have performance issues 6. Set Anti Aliasing in DCS to MSAA and MSAA to 4x 7. Deactivate the Game Bar and the Game Mode in Settings -> Gaming in Windows

Yeah, this is what confuses me. Is there really that much of a difference when using Nvidia over AMD? DCS becomes unplayable in multiplayer at high settings for me, while comparable cards (like 1080) can easily do that and more. I feel like it might be a VRAM issue more than anything. I can easily get 100 fps in single player at medium-high settings when VRAM usage is usually in the 3-4GB range. In multiplayer, however, it seems to overflow immediately (even at low settings) and kill my fps with the exception of really small servers. Page file is at 40GB. I don’t notice a difference with vsync. It is possible that Adrenalin could be causing issues, but I have most features turned off in it. I’ve used 3DMark and seen no issues with my card.

As a nVidia card owner, I find this sad and ridiculous. It is ironic on how much neglect there is on nVidia for VRAM on newer cards and DCS eats VRAM like there is no tomorrow. "Most benchmarks" features games that run on consoles. Your card has only 8gb of VRAM. Try to look at a hardware resource monitor to see if your VRAM is the bottleneck.

Thanks a lot for your feedback gentlemen. There was indeed a pair of triggers that weren't seperated cleanly enough and could lead to the mission stalling after setting the (parking) brake (basically swallowing the step with the starter switch). I uploaded a hotfix and updated the uploaded campaign file already. I also attached the corrected mission here. My apologies for the inconveniences. Cheers Carsten CG_Corsair_School_M01_Cold Start.miz

Yes, that's right. I could have started my own thread dedicated to the updated VPC Mod, but felt it would have been a disrespect to the author of this Mod, so I never did that, instead directing people to my post only.

That sounds like a good start. Do you know if the devs started monitoring this forum? There have been a few additional reports accumulating here.

Correct. Visual Reporting Points that I placed based on RW coordinates are also in the correct locations. -

You want me to pin the above link in the first post? No problem, can do. Any additional explanations I should add to it? No, wait. You weren’t talking about this appreciation thread, were you? But the Airfield equipment thread, right?
