There are a few things that already work in DCS: targets are found by radar, IR or optically when close enough, not by "magic" SAM radars do emit constantly unless you turn them off in ME, so you have control some over it with triggers, scipts, etc. afaik you can have more radars in the group and that makes them sort of simple local IADS If you found a bug or feel it doesn't work this way make a report, because "magic" is disproven in reports every day.

AI Tanker Refueling Weirdness
Alex241 replied to Proper Charlie's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Hi everybody. I wrote about it in the Russian part of the forum, but I did not receive a response. Around March of this year, a bug appeared - in some missions (especially in new or updated ones), the slave bot stopped refueling (regardless of the order of refueling, I tried to approach first and send the bot first). He approaches the cone, hovers with a barbell slightly lower and flies into the refueling formation. At the same time, he does not receive fuel (he checked with triggers, displaying messages about the amount of fuel). Moreover, in missions created earlier (last year), the wingman refuels normally. I am attaching a screenshot and several tracks. I fly offline. I did a complete repair of the game, nothing has changed. Description of tracks: 28032025-1 New mission. The player is the first to approach hose 1, the bot is the second to hose 2. The bot has no contact. 28032025-3 The old mission. The player is the first to approach hose 1, the bot is the second to hose 2. The bot has a contact. 28032025-4 New mission. The bot is the first to approach hose 1, the player is the second to hose 2. The bot has no contact. -

Can't wait to try this at the weekend. I've been practicing the standard landing pattern and either been dropping out of the sky on final or gain too much altitude and need to go around. (a straight in landing with flare seems to be ok though) Hopefully this will help!

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill

Quite unlikely! What other mods besides CH ones do you have installed? -
Is it ok that switch from mode 3 to mode 1 in continuous transmission mode and the radar works is correct?

Dear Ugra Media Team, First of all, thank you for your continued work on providing new theaters. I’d like to raise a terrain-related issue that affects all maps in DCS (not only yours) and has a critical impact on mission planning and visual navigation: DCS currently displays Tactical Pilotage Charts (TPCs) as the base map layer in the Mission Editor and F10 view—but the actual in-game terrain does not reflect the contents of this chart. This is not a minor discrepancy. Entire features visible on the TPC—towns, roads, airfields, railways, dams, power lines, smokestacks, vertical obstructions—are completely missing from the terrain. This breaks both immersion and function for players who expect the TPC to be an authoritative reference, as it is in real-world aviation. This is the key point: DCS is explicitly showing the TPC as a reference map, which implies that what you see is what you get. But that is not true in practice. Pilots and mission creators plan based on that chart, only to find that key features simply do not exist in-game. We are not concerned if some features exist in-game and aren’t on the TPC chart. The concern is the opposite: if a feature is shown on the TPC, it must exist in-game. Examples of missing TPC features: Towns (even large ones) shown on the chart, but no buildings or textures in-game. Roads and railways that appear on the chart, but do not exist in the terrain mesh. Dams, bridges, smokestacks, or power lines visible on the TPC but entirely absent from the map. These are not minor decorative details—they are tactical elements for low-level visual navigation, mission timing and leg planning, target area identification and IP selection, and obstacle avoidance. What we’re asking: We understand this is not a trivial fix. But we ask for a long-term, map-by-map effort to bring terrain data up to par with the TPC reference layer already used in the Mission Editor and F10 view. Specifically: If a feature is shown on the TPC, include it in the terrain. Start with key navigational aids and obstacles: roads, towns, power lines, railways, airfields, vertical obstructions. This would greatly improve realism, usability, and trust in the mission planning tools provided within DCS. Why this matters: You chose to display the TPC chart as the reference map in both mission planning and live operations (F10). That choice is excellent—but only if the game world matches it. As it stands, the chart becomes misleading, which hurts gameplay and immersion. We’re not asking here for new assets or visual upgrades—we’re asking for basic terrain consistency with the chart DCS already uses. Thank you for your time and consideration! Examples: Old Map - Syria The railway bridge is missing, as well as all the villages to the south. Other example: very large mast/tower missing. New Map - CW Germany No large antenna.

need track replay Mi-24P SPO-10 and AT-6 - Unrealistic behaviour
Qiou87 replied to 450Devil's topic in Bugs and Problems
Indeed. Having been in the Mi-24P in similar situations, the lock on any ATGM guided by Petrovich gets lost as soon as you maneuver aggressively. You can even "screw up" the aim if you maneuver without storing the visor beforehand (Ask Petrovich to stop targeting). I also was hit from the rear by a friend flying the AH-64D firing 114L at me (he said "Oh, a butterfly!" then proceeded to fire ) and I had no warning of incoming missile either from RWR or Petrovich (the shot came from my 6 o'clock at around 5km). So the module works fine when flown by a human in the described situations. You describe issues with the AI behavior, which is probably not specific to the Mi-24. I remember seeing planes like MiG-21 flaring when I approach from their 6, radar off, and firing a Fox2. I don't think those older planes have MWS. The AI in the game just has less limitations than human pilots. -

Ill laugh so hard whenever someone comes around with a ripped model of the new F-5 and other EDCE models, aswell as the MiG-29 when its out. Simply because then you'll have to explain what the point of this measure is. Whoever made the decision to implement this, does not understand that the moment the model is on a users screen, it WILL be ripped by someone. ED is unnecessarily starting a fight with its content creators. We have seen this with the modding community: First when 2.5.6 came out, a lot of the scripts got encrypted. Making modding a lot harder and limited. That wasn't this bad until FC2024 came around. FC2024 has killed a lot of mods, and only raised the entry bar, so only those that where actually doing their own stuff without mostly relying on FC3 would be able to make stuff. Some mods literally only work because people reverse engineered FC3. You've seen it with the F-5 livery comp. Nobody will actually make stuff anymore. Especially not high quality skins. The RCAF camo was the best entry, and even that was still far from being good. The creator himself said that he cant work like this. But hey Me and a few friends have an idea: We will make Liveries like this if ED will code the game in notepad from now on. Because that is essentially what you're telling us to do. There is a reason nobody believes you when you say that ED is trying to come up with a solution. The same thing was said back with 2.5.6 about the files for all the weapons and planes. And look where those are. Possibly its just me being pessimistic. But i dont see ED doing anything in this situation, because they simply dont care. Maybe thats why they keep thanking us for our "Passion and support", because the passion is slowly dying on their end. I wonder if Tishin (Rest his soul) would have allowed any of this.

It must be true if he said so - and the reason why USAF gave 7440th Composite Wing and Saudi squadrons such a secondary/support role, mostly BARCAP outside of main combat area.

Hi, A first modern VFR ICAO chart for Germany has been released in ED user files. The TPC map used in DCS F10 map will be released shortly! Note that both maps are also available in .mbtiles format for CombatFlite.

A really decent package of patches. Unfortunately, there's still no manual for the Mi-24P...

It's not in the notes, but after this patch the F-16 TWS finally started to work correctly for me. Before, I could not make system tracks with TMS up. TMS up would lock the non-system track under the cursor, and TMS right would lock a random(?) track, often friendly nowhere near the cursor. Now it seems to work as intended. Thanks anyway.

The FCS will not retrim to 1g if you have flaps in AUTO. If you set TO trim (+12) with flaps in auto you will most likely crash on takeoff because the nose will just keep rising. I guess you could take off in AUTO with neutral-ish trim if you really wanted to. I' assuming the average player sets takeoff trim. Ask me how I know you will crash.

I set upscaling in DCS and then in the AMD software I set Performance settings with Super Resolution ON. After open the game the display change to the lower resolution set in DCS and don't upscale to the max resolution of my display keeping side blank space on the screen. I just update the DCS today.

Feedback Thread - Phantom Patch 21-05-2025
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
The FM changes are brilliant and I love them! Jester still calls out: "We lost cabin pressure!" though. I did a test yesterday where I climbed to 50k ft and when descending he panicked again... This is the exact same scenario that I used to reproduce this bug prior to latest patch. -
You're going to get this reaction til the problem is fixed, Just telling us to stop whining isn't gonna work. As it stands, It would appear ED Leadership didn't see an issue with what happened with the F-5 Competition if thats the response we're going with.
